Already I'm thinking of my second Reos. It will be another Grand for sure. haven't landed on the paint job yet, I have a few choices
and will narrow that down soon.

What I am not sure about is to get another RM2 or a Cyclone. I would like know how or what is the performance difference between them.

I have three rba's for manual dripping, a Helios, a Atomic and a Omega. and each one gives a great vape but there so different at the same time.

So please chime in and give me the low down

Thanks

If I were you, I'd order a Grand with a milled-down catch cup. It'll allow you to use a much wider variety of bottom-feed RBAs.

That's good advice. As for wether to buy a cyclone or a RM2, I'd say both. IMHO, they're very different animals. I cannot use the cyclone with the stock hole, it's just too small for lung inhaling, so I'm using it with AFC. With it, the chamber is bigger than that of the RM2.0, and what I've found is that for dual coiling it's a beast, but not that much for a single coil. Smaller chambers give better taste, that much we know, and the only way to battle that is creating huge amounts of vapour with subohm, dual coils and so on... Good thing is, with the AFC you can do lots of different, sometimes crazy setups.

Now I'm running a dual microcoil in the Cyclone, and it beats the RM2 in flavour, TH and of course vapour, but that doesn't mean I'm not using the RM2. I prefer the RM2 when I'm on the way, I'd never take out my Reo with the cyclone and a dual coil. Anyway, that's just me, so that's why I say...get both and give it a try yourself. The cyclone lets you do so many different setups, it's worth it only for the fun of it :toast:

the cyclone drains well if you drill or re drill the center post right at, or just below deck level. the as stock BF cyclone is drilled a bit above the deck so it doesn't drain completely, leaving a wet deck and more leaking.

the rm2 is a nice tiny chamber bottom feed atty, great for a single coil. the cyclone is not as good as the rm2 with a just a single coil in my opinion when it comes to peak flavor, it needs dual coils to taste as good as an rm2 but then at the same time it will wind up giving you much more vapor and consume more juice with duals too, so depends what kind of vape you want... the suggestion of getting both may be valid :)

Downside of the cyclone is it doesn't drain... If you just randomly plunge like I do when I'm driving or out and about you will get leakiness... At least I do.

Like turbocad said, if you drill the hole lower on the post, it drains very well.

I recommend getting the top feed, afc combo and drilling it yourself. Super easy to do.
I'm still playing with different setups on the cyclone, but so far, I still think the rm2 has better flavor.

Why wouldn't you just have the nickel plating sanded or blasted off? Just curious, as that's what I was thinking of doing when I (eventually) order mine.

He'd have to have the nickel plating on the inside of the cap removed as well and I'm not sure vaping raw brass would be much better.

I had a mild nickle allergy years ago and it was not fun (knock on woodville).

Have to say I am Reo-less. A Reo newb in the stages of planning it all out - and I want to do it right - the first time (don't we all?). :) I'm not interested in using any carto's or atty's... only RBA's and from what I've read, the RM2 is the way to go. I like that it's relatively affordable, and has a ceramic base (good insurance for a first-timer like me, whose never built a coil).

I've a nickel allergy also, and so... still wanting to purchase and use one, I called Rob about removing the nickel from the RM2. He said he could only sand-off the exterior.

It's just me, but I won't use brass, or any metal but ss

Frank

I share these concerns. Thought I'd try to find a shop with glass or bead blasting equipment to properly remove the nickel from all of the exterior & interior surfaces. I'm less concerned with vaping off of brass, but I'll admit a strong preference for all stainless steel.

What are my options for an all stainless RBA for use with the Reo? I'd appreciate any advice on affordable SS alternatives to the RM2.

Thanks! -Rob
