whoa. That dove tail wire slot video put me in a t-r-a-a-a-a-n-c-e!

Hey I think this would be a great song to put one of the vids to..I don't listen to a lot of jazz, but this Les McCann/Eddie Harris pretty smokin' stuff...esp the build-up before they "break out" ......wild!

I drove cross country with this playing, it's got drive drive drive.....in case you can't get enough with caffeine. :)

+1

i had that on 8-track during my first or second cross-country drive. It almost got me across parts of Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, as i recall.

Thank you! I can't even remember the last time i heard that.

Honey these are cool cats as they would say back in the day.......I could watch les mcCann forever, he's some kinda s-m-o-o-t-h, the way he moves.........all the fire is inside---- on the outside he looks like he'd never even break a sweat

well what made me think of it was watching the dove tail wire slot video and those brushes reminded me of the jazz drummers sticks........

yeah, well you better save up some other organs in case you see a 2nd or 3rd one you want......later on......

okay, this might be a good time to post this valuable information. Organs you can live without:
1 lung
1 kidney
spleen
uterus/testicles
stomach
colon
appendix
gall bladder

Can't think of any others......

I lost my appendix, so let's see....I guess I'm good for SEVEN mods........

You left out brains. And if you doubt that, you don't pay much attention to politics :)

Hey wood owners I'm very much looking forward to getting a few from robs wood-run but have a question... Do any of theses woods have stronger odors than others? I think Cocobolo can have a floral odor? Looking for minimal odor wood any suggestions? Does the odor add to the woodvill experience? :)

I can personally vouch that the cocobolo and the stabilized wood only smell like...

wood!

A couple of questions-
1- Will the latest RM2 attys fit all the new woodvils?
2- Are the brass RM2s more expensive than stock and will they be an available option on woody sale night?
2- Will there be different wood combo door options available or all 1 kind of wood body & door?

Doing my preplanning! :)

Thanks in advance for any info.

I think I can answer that one. Unlike metal REOs, wood REOs doors are cut to fit the specific body....but if Im wrong Rob will answer it correctly. ;)

When you order an RM2, specify to Rob that its for a woodvil so he can mill the RM2 down to fit it. And also specify that you want the RM2 to be brass. I believe he just takes the finish off of the normal RM2 if im not mistaken. And I think I paid a few extra dollars for a brass RM2 over a regular one. Hopefully thats helps you out

Got it, thanks.
I wondered because I have a milled RM2 for my metal mini and does not work with my mini woodvil.

like I can only vouch for the cocobolo and the stabilized neither of which had strong odors when I got them new but what does give off odor is the poly-urethane coating he puts on the majority of them different woods absorb this differently and some take longer than others to completely cure and there are different ways people can speed up this process but it wasn't an issue for me with the ones I got

1-Rob will most likely install the larger catch cups on this run so as not to have to mill down RM2's to fit (I'm sure he'll be along before long to comfirm/deny this)
2-yes their a little more expensive and you have to request this via pm or email or phone call
3-Rob always does a very wide range of wood combos as well as some with the same wood for both body and door

Hmmmm - I currently have a mini woodvil with a Utile Body & Ebony door and have always seen combo woodvils!

My bad. I thought you were asking if you could get a different wood type door (replacement) for a already made wood REO like you can with metal REOs. :)

Yes, Rudy, Robert does both combinations of woods and a single wood for a wood REO. Usually he mixes the combinations up some so there is a good variety available.

It becomes tricky for the picky! Last runs he showed both back and front of the woods. Some may find it difficult to decide which REO has the woods they want, the grain and pattern they want, and the choice of which wood for body and door.

Mostly it is a "pick your favorites" and try your hardest on sale night to nab one of them! If you don't succeed in that then you grab the first you see that says "buy now"!!!!

I feel the excitement growing.................and I really like the adrenalin rush!
