Might fall off the Woodvil Train...
Another look at that VV Grand I have always admired might be the end of a Woodie for me ! That would make 2 beater minis for work and 2 VV Grand at home. I'm startin' to like the sound of that....

EDIT: It's Official ! I am withdrawn from the Woodvil Race ! Hope everyone gets the one(s) they want.

I have a question for you Reonauts, hopefully you can help me decide on which model I should be looking at. I had a 14500 Reo mini, but even aside from the batt life (too short for my vape habits), it just didn't hit hard enough for me. I'm hoping the problem will be solved with a bigger unit. Do you guys that have the 18650 and the 18490 versions notice a big difference in the vape between the two? The battery life in the 18490 is sufficient for me in my Provari, and I prefer a smaller form factor, but if on a Woodvil it makes a big difference in the vape, I'll go for the bigger battery.

I don't have any woodies but I've got grands and mini 2.1's. I use RBA's on all of them. I make my coils slightly under one ohm and they vape the same. The 18490 AW IMR's have the same amp ratings as the 1600 mAh 18650 AW IMR's. They vape the same with fresh batteries, the 18650's last longer but I prefer the 18490's because they are smaller. I also have a mini that uses 14500's, those batts can't handle the current so I have to build coils with higher resistance and even then they don't last very long. To me the 18490's with an RBA make the perfect combo.

That's just what I needed to know, thanks so much!

as far as i know, based upon my (cough) tiny collection of Woodvils, they are all constructed similarly electrically. (excluding the VV woods for this discussion.) what that means is the vape is entirely dependent on your atty and battery- not the mod.

if you are a very low ohm vaper, the batteries of the smaller ones will either not deliver what you want, or they will be perfectly fine, but you may need to change batteries more often.

i'm usually in the 1.2- 1.5 ohm range and i can tell no difference between my 490s and my Grands, as far as the vape goes.

Very true tho some will swear one hits harder than the other. The only other factor I'd add to the mix is type of juice & nic content which would make a difference.

Can someone who has a Woodvil 18490 and some scales weigh it for me please? Different wood types may weigh slightly different but just looking for any data point, if possible?

If you look at the weights on these metal REO's you will be pretty close on the same size wood REO. Yes, wood types vary. I have the same type in many different woods and some are noticeably lighter or heavier.

Width: 1-11/16"
Depth: 15/16"
ID of catch cup: ~19/32"
Weight: 6.3oz fully loaded
Uses 6ml bottle & 1 AW IMR 18650 Battery

Mini 2.0 18490:
=====
Height: 3-1/8" including catch cup
Width: 1-5/8”
Depth: 7/8”
ID of catch cup: ~35/64"
Weight: 4.9 oz fully loaded
Uses 3ml bottle & 1 AW IMR 18490 Battery

Mini 2.1 18490:
=====
Height: 3-1/8" including catch cup
Width: 1-5/8”
Depth: 7/8”
ID of catch cup: ~3/5"
Weight: 4.9 oz fully loaded
Uses 3ml bottle & 1 AW IMR 18490 Battery

Mini 14500:

Variable Voltage Grand:
