I do believe that is the one. It's real hard real heavy and tough as all get out. I've done lots of marine work with it. It is my favorite wood.

Yes, tough and heavy, I made an electric guitar body with some when I was a kid, cut the block out with a chainsaw, we used to use it (gum) for firewood, I'd cut about 3/4 ton a week in winter. Still got the guitar. Be perfect for Woodies I reckon, nice dark red/brown grain, depending on species. You wouldn't worry about knocking it over.

Any one going for a Mini Woodvil or a Woodvil 18490 will be pleased to know I am only going for Woodvils!!!

Any one going for a Woodvil................well..........you better..........hope you are quicker than me!

I am not going for these: Cocobolo, Jatoba, Ebony, Purpleheart, Curly Oak, Quarter Sawn Oak, or any Woodvil that is NOT only one wood.

Don't have enough Karen? :)

I don't think there is a point where I say enough!

This Woodvil run will let me get two. One for my 3 years cig free, and one for my 3 years with REO's which is coming up soon.

So, I have valid reasons to purchase!!!

In the last two years I think I have only bought REO's for my anniversary's or because they were new styles offered.

With the wood REO"s sale date getting closer I hope all the potential buyers have their Howard's Feed & Wax!

Even with the oiled REO's you can use the wax! Especially on the inside!

SunSheild is what I use. The UV protectant helps keep the colors from darkening or fading.

You can find it online or at some local stores. A bottle will last a very long time!

Use the Howard's Feed and Wax on them inside and out. I use a Q-Tip to get into all the inside crevices. Use a soft cloth and my fingers to do the outside of the body and door. Don't forget the back of the door!

You can get the Sunshield that has UV protection. It is recommended for woods that lose color or change color over time.

I have lots of wood REO's and they ALL get Howard's SunShield.

If you can, put it on and let it sit overnight. Next morning wipe and buff to a shine.

It is true that the poly coat won't absorb the wax or oil in the wax. But it forms a coating on the poly. Read what they say on the Howard's site.

Do we need to bring them to you house to use your fingers or will you stop by my house? JK Thanks for the great info. Good to know I can get it locally.

Woke up early this morning and for the 1st time in several weeks I instinctively reached for my REO. Some days are harder than others. :( So I had to peek at the site again. I'm telling you if I were buying a REO from this lot of gorgeous wood REOs then this one would have to be my 1st choice.

Honestly, I use my fingers and hand to rub that wax in well! The soft cloth is for later when I remove any extra wax and buff to a shine!

There is just something sensual about hand waxing that wood..........

I found the one I like I just hope I don't have to compete with Karen for it. But if I don't get it I hope she gets it if she wants it too.

All I can say is have your favorites list handy. I have had to move down my list before when my first pic was gone.

This whole grabbing thing might be challenging but I do want everyone to be really happy with what they get. It is common to have lots of people with their eye on one certain wood REO. What we must think about is what is the chance that we can get it? Is it worth the risk to pick it and try? OR would it be better to try for the 2nd on our list and maybe have a chance to get it instead?

We might never even know who gets any one certain REO. Some of these are bought buy people that are not even here on ECF. Some by people in other countries.

I will go into the sale with my choices and see what happens.

What I get is what I was meant to have. It was always mine and I just did not know it! I really believe that to be true.

That's weird that mods are gone - I thought one of mine was gone, but it's still there. The number of mods hasn't gone down, so I wonder what happened?

I don't know, but one I checked a few minutes ago now appears to be gone as well. It was my FIRST choice. What's going on here?? I've searched by wood type and mod number…no go on the top two that were on my list. Hard to make a list this way...
