I'm at the very beginning stages. Had my last smoke before the mail came on Wednesday with my PV. After that I haven't had any issues other than trying to learn how everything works and how to really optimize the experience. I've found vaping to be very enjoyable and really fill the void and I can't foresee have any issues sticking with this plan. I love being able to 'smoke' inside which is a huge plus side to vaping along with what I believe to be long term health and cost benefits.

do most people get withdrawals?

i just started vaping yesterday, but haven't had any major withdrawals yet. i DID have an analog while i was recharging, but until yesterday i was smoking almost 1.5 packs a day, so i'm not sure that would have mitigated the withdrawals. i'm on the 24mg cartomizers right now (yes, i went with a simple 2pc model and pre-filled cartomizers... i wanted something easy to start with), and they seem to be a little strong for me, even though i was smoking mediums.

i'm just trying to gauge how bad it will be once my other batteries get here and i try to go off analogs completely.

I'd suggest not fussing too much about declaring a "quit day". I can't speak to anyone's experience but my own, but FWIW: I had to replace two things: 1) nicotine (so buy some higher-nic juice to battle that part of any craving you might have. It might help some if it tastes like a cigarette. It helped me.) 2) The "ritual" of smoking. The hand-to-mouth, drag, throat hit, exhale a nice puff of smoke to admire. :)

If we could just address #1 we would all have quit with gum, patches, or inhalers. Vaping does a nice job of adding #2. For me, my brain didn't know I wasn't smoking. All the usual habits remained, including initially using something that was sized like a cigarette and fit nicely between my index and middle fingers. That's why I never try to tallk new vapers out of wanting something "sized like a cigarette". Thank you, Smokeless Image.

When you want a cigarette, vape. When you want a cigarette badly, vape a higher nic juice that tastes more like a cigarette. When you can't stand it, have a cigarette. Most of the people I've talked to either quit right away, or gradually over days or weeks, or even months. Some wise people here remind us that "every cigarette you don't smoke is a victory". You don't have to arrive at non-smoking immediately. If denial and willpower were the answer, we'd all have quit before they invented PV's.

Compulsory disclaimer: I don't speak for everyone. I'm not everyone...just MY experience. Consider and use/discard as you wish.
