There are so many vendors out there, I could probably spend a few months just finding all their names and what was different about them. I've really only ordered from a handful, so I'm going to defer this question to someone with more liquid experience.

I will say that all of the places I've ordered from have been very prompt in shipping and confirming orders. One of my orders was a bit slow, but that was because they had to hand-make everything.

Keep in mind that cartomizers are pretty limited in ability to change flavors. Once you fill it with something, you're more-or-less stuck with that flavor in that carto....unless you're willing to risk a strange blend from switching.

Thats probably going to be ok in the short term until I get more money to try attys out. I mean, I can fill the cartomizers with half, or a quarter of fluid if I want, and then clean them out somehow cant I?

Mike, I find cartos to work best for flavor is filled completely and not allowed to go more than half way before topping off...you can certainly clean them out BUT, it ain't quick...you can use the search function to find many methods...I use the boil and rinse 3 times method and then blow excess water out and allow to dry for a day or so before reuse...........

You can do the carto-for-each-flavor method, but you'll want to make sure to label them. I have a whole box of flavors that I didn't care for, or aren't my favorite.

Washing them is risky at best. Sometimes they get clean, but more often the polyfil gets saturated with water and just doesn't want to let it go...unless you find a good method, and even then it's timely.

Overall, I think this is a very, very good start. I wish I had done something similar when I started.

I'm not sure about the extensions you have listed, or why you need them, but I think you'll need this to get the stuff designed for an ego to work on a standard 510 connector.

510 Battery to eGo Atomizer Adapter

Also, when I first got EMDCC's, they had a sort of nipple tip, that I didn't like much. They also have a version with a whistle tip, linked here.

eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer Flat-Tip

I like those whistle tips much better, which seems to be the general consensus. You can move the tip from one to another, so now that I have some with whistle tips, I'll just move the tips to the carto's that came with nipple tips. I'm not sure if anything you have listed has the whistle tips - make sure you get at least one, in case you like it better like most of us do.

If I were getting that mod, I'd be planning on vaping at 6v, but the batteries you are ordering are going to give you 3.7, I think. vaping at a higher voltage might also mean using different cartomizers, so maybe this is a better way to start, and you can consider trying 6v later. At least your mod allows you that option.

And I'm not sure of the point of the bottom tube, but I assume you do. I'm just not sure you really need it, and I think to use it, you would need different batteries.

This part is unnecessary. That's a 510 connector kit for making your own mod; the nut is for fastening it to the case you're using to build it (after which you'd likely use some sealant to prevent leaks getting into the case).

As for liquids, the only one I have tried of the four you listed from them was Spearmint, and I'll be honest, I found it too sweet and it reminded me more of mouthwash than anything. But tastes are subjective of course, so give it a shot, you might like it. I will tell you though that MadVapes make an excellent chocolate mint in their TopVapor line. I wasn't very impressed with the vast majority of flavours I've tried from them, but their chocolate mint has been the best I've tried so far, and one of the few with a chocolate flavouring that actually tasted like real semi-dark chocolate rather than that fake chocolate flavouring you get more often than not.

Lastly, my plan is to get 3 different 10ml bottles, to make 30ml total. I don't know exactly how long this will last me though. everything I get will have to last me until early next month when I can afford more liquid and cartos. Im thinking I'll be a light to moderate vaper to start, until I stop smoking the analogs entirely.

30ml should be enough for you to determine whether this is going to work for you or not. I can tell you that i was a 1PAD smoker and at my vaping rate, 30ml will last me about 8-10 days. (A little less these days because I'm using the Fluxomizer Deluxes from GotVapes and they're juice whores, so I go through juice quicker on these things, especially at higher voltages.) DCCs will definitely go through more juice than a single coil, but that 8-10 day figure I mentioned was based on using dual coils. The 8 cartos you're getting should last you plenty. I usually got 4-6 days use out of one carto before it needed to be cleaned, and I could get maybe 2-3 cleanings out of each before they failed to bounce back to an acceptable level. (Note however that cleaning these things can require 24-72 hours of dry time depending on how you dry them.)

About that bottom tube, someone in the forum recomended it when I was going with the maxi Kit, so I jumped into the chat room to ask if I really need it. one person, who owns one, said yes but they jumped out of the chat before they could say why. The website page for the bottom tube only gives a brief description unfortunately.

I'm not 100% sure though. To me it looks like the Maxi Roughstack, by itself, can go either 6v or 3.7v, and be compatable with cartos and attys for both voltages, without the bottom tube being needed. I'm thinking that one of the longer 18650 bats can be used for 3.7 volts, or two of the 16340 3.7v bateries can be used for 6v.

By the looks of it the bottom tube will alow me to use one of the 16340 batteries without needing the longer 18650. therfore this shortens the length of the device making it more portable. (correct me if I'm wrong)

If this is the case I can save 15 dollars by not getting it, and have extra money for the 510 eGo Adapter you mentioned and the DCC. I'll also have a little extra money for another E-Juice bottle.

Any comments on this would be a great help, I want to try to make my purchase tonight if possible.

Mike

Thanks I might save some money on that one too by not getting it. Just for informational purposes by "making your own mod" are you implying mixing and matching parts, or for designing your own parts?

Mixing and matching. MadVapes carries a good assortment of pretty well all of the parts you'd ever need to make yourself a box or tube mod. I think they even sell simple soldering irons and solder, so they're pretty well a one stop DIY mod shop. :)

That's how I read it too. I think you only need that if you want a smaller PV that runs 3.7 with the smaller battery. I've never used a roughstack, so I could be wrong.

As you can see, you do tend to get fairly fast responses here, but the chat can be even faster. I idle there a lot, but I'm often not paying attention. But if you say my name in chat and I'm near my computer, it'll alert me.

Someone mentioned that madvapes tends to ship fast, so if you decide you want something later that you didn't get the first time, it won't take long. I agree with that. And their shipping is only a few bucks, so it's not expensive.

I think you're doing a good job figuring out what you should get, how to get started. But the nature of the beast is that there is a learning curve. Even if you spent a month asking questions, once you actually get the PV and accessories in your hands, you'll have more questions, and you'll find something else that you want to order. I don't think there is any way to avoid that. And some things, you can't really learn online at all. A text description of filling a standard boge cartomizer doesn't really do it - it's sort of an art form, and it takes a little practice. Everyone likes different flavors, so you'll end up trying different flavors from different places for awhile. In your case, you're planning to start vaping at 3.7v, but your PV will do 6v vaping, and I'm pretty sure you'll want to try that later on.

So I think you've done your homework, you've studied your playbook, and it's time to get on the field and play. :)

I'll be ordering tonight or possibly tomorrow. Ive made a couple last minute changes to my list and decided not to get the bottom tube for 15$, or the Shorty 510 Extension and Connector for 6$. I'll still get the standard V2-510-Shorty-Extension since its only 2 bucks, and I might end up needing it.

The saved money I'm putting into two of the eGo-Mega-Dual-Coil-Cartomizers and a 510-Battery-to-eGo-Atomizer-Adapter.
I'll also get a couple extra bottles of E-liquid. 60 ml worth

This is what Ive decided to go with on E-liquids.....
Coffee 10ml/24g
Minthol 10ml/24g
Dekang USA Mix 10ml/24g
Spearmint 10ml/18g
Root Beer 10ml/18g
Chocolate Mint 10ml/18g

Those last minute tips helped save me from getting a couple things I probably won't need right away, and im hoping the 60ml of E-Liquid im getting now will last me well into next month.

Thanks Tracy, I'm hoping I'll receive my kit by Monday or Tuesday. However, If its much later than that, I probably wont be back to the forums to get help or comment on my new device for a couple weeks. I'm moving to a new apartment sometime late next week, so I'll be without internet for a little while. :(

Good thing I found this website and madvapes, because I wont be allowed to smoke within 30ft of my new apartment building, or inside.

Every flavor is sweet. I think the base PG/VG must be sweet. I'd love to find a good tobacco flavor that doesn't taste like candy. Boba's Bounty is my favorite, but it's still sweet.

PG is sort of sweet when you taste it. But it's not supposed to make juices sweet, just smooth them out.

I don't vape tobacco flavors but Vapor Station and Backwoods Brew have some popular tobacco juices. They're the only ones I'm familiar with. Have you tried them?
