sweet. should be cheaper b/c it only has one battery. The price on alibaba for sample kits (min 10) is $24-26. MJT New Product "T-Rex" electronic cigarette ---- HOT T-Rex electronic cigarette

Be interesting to see what the markup is.

I refuse to pay $75 for an Ego kit, or $20 for a battery for that matter. Waiting till the prices drop and then I'll buy. Actually I'd just like the battery connector for an 18650 mod.

They are very stylin though :toast:

The Hello 016 is a 1200-1300 mAh battery and larger. The atomizers are built into a cone shape, so it's like an eGo with a 510 and the cone attached... permanently. It will fit a normal 510 as well since people can't find the specialized atomizers for the hello 016. Very similar in side by side look to an eGo, but the button is different, and again, it's a larger overall unit. If it's a good unit, it'll most likely turn into the next eGo and sport another 20-30 different monikers till the next big model/innovation comes around. ;)

The T-Rex is a 650 just like the eGo, the Tornado, the Riva, the Excalibur, there's a ton of individual reseller names for them, just like the 510 did with the Titan, the Yeti, etc.

Why would you only want one battery?

i wouldn't. that's the problem with the Ego for me. $40 for 2 replacement batteries? I just haven't had any luck with commercial e-cig batteries. they stick, ends fall off, buttons stick, etc. I don't even care for the 14500 battery. 18650 is my battery of choice and the size is not big for a mod.

what i'd like to do is get an ego connector and cone and make a mod similar to cisco's dual ego mod, but with a 18650. I've got some cones coming from heaven-gifts, so i'll check them out and see what they add to the experience. might make a handy connector base or something.

There's another it seems and the price looks very attractive. Boast of many improvements too. Might be enough for me to try my very first mod.

Electronic Cigarette | Electronic Cigarettes | E-Cigarettes | E-Cigs from Smoore -
yup same as the T rex...

...and already people mix models of different manufacturers. it's sad. :2c:

yeah ain't it....

Joye.....eGo, Tornado
EM....riva (not a joye product)
hello 016 (yet another manufacturer)
t rex (yet another manufacturer)

so at least 4 different manufacturers

I have been an eGO owner since day one of their release. The manual batteries perform very well. I have had only 1 battery go bad and Janty promptly replaced it. Unless you are the world's heaviest vaper, 2 batteries will be more than adequate. I cannot speak to the other makers of the eGO look alikes, but I will say that I would not hesitate to purchase from Janty. Are they a couple of bucks more? Yes they are, but the tremendous warranty and level of service more than makes up for a few dollars. I have to be careful as a moderator, because I don't want to appear to be endorsing any one supplier, but I can say that I spent a lot of my own money with Janty before coming on as a mod, and I have not regretted one dollar that I have spent with them.

Ahh, my bad, I thought the term "just like" was enough to placate.

Regardless of multiple manufacturing, the fact remains that they're within a few extremely minor differences, if any, at all, essentially the same look, the same battery, and the same button. The only exception is the hello 016 since it's only similar to an eGo in design and concept, the unit itself is quite different and shouldn't even be in this thread since it's not a comparable unit.

I'm not mixing manufacturers, I don't pretend to know exactly where every model was manufactured from. I've never been to each of them individually, and therefore do not comment on where they come from. Information is only as complete as who produced it.

However, when there's 10 of the same thing all with different names, well.. yeah to me, they're the same damn thing. The subtle differences of manufacturing come out in the reviews and ownership of a product, and the backing of the company that sells it.

If it looks like an eGo, vapes like an eGo, and lasts as long as an eGo, well, it must be an eGo, or drawn from the same blueprint as one.

My ignorance overwhelms me, I do apologize for such a grievous error.

That's kind of how I've always viewed the mods that look like a roll of quarters or a bolt with a large nut on each end. To me they're all the same cause, to me, they all look the same. I'm sure there's a million mod owners that will argue that point.:)
But you're right, there are many eGo lookalikes out there all of a sudden.

sorry if it sounded harsh...they are 4 distinct models and you can tell which they are by looking at them...

you've got the original eGo....(the tornado was a rename)...that has a silver band on the battery and a clear hard plastic button..

the riva...goldish band and a rubberized button

hello 016 ...has a button that's ruberized that's a different shape kinda circle with a long oval running through...and a one piece cone/atty..

T Rex....metal button and a blue light ring around bottom edge of the band

if getting original joye products is important to you then that's just good to know...
much like though you had all those names for the 510 (joye510, titan, yeti are all joye)...you had the clones made by other companies that had slighly different specs and some people didn't like (L2, SLB)...that's why alot of suppliers put genuine joye product on their descriptions of 510 stuff...

There are four egos presently being sold that I know of. I have tried three and there are some slight differences between the three that you might like to know about. I have been using them for 6-8 weeks now. I have not tried the RIVA ego I think it is called.

The janty ego. two batteries, one atomizer, one cone and the fast charger (1.5-2 hours to charge the battery). Had problems with both atomizers.

The totally wicked tornado. two batteries, two atomizers, one cone and a slow charger (4-5 hours to charge the battery). This ego also requires a adapter that is included and fits between the charger and the battery. No issues to speak of.

The Joye ego. two batteries, two atomizers, two cones (two complete cigarettes), the fast charger (1.5-2 hours to charge the battery) and a 510 to 901 adapter. No issues to speak of.

It appears the Joye ego is the best value for the money.

On a side note, I have been smoking the 510 for 11 months now and it was my favorite cigarette. I now use the ego and have not touched the 510 in over 6 weeks.

This is an amazing e-cigarette regardless of which one you decide to purchase. It uses all my 510 atomizers and cartridges, Increased vapor production and I am getting 8-12 hours out of a battery.

This ego battery has really improved the e-cigarette experience for me now that i no longer have to switch 510 batteries every three hours...Mike

the janty, TW, and joye are all the same product though....
Janty designed it...joye produced it for them....and janty released it for joye to sell OEM.....so TW picked it up and released it as the tornado...joye had to wait a bit but now can sell to smaller suppliers so now we're seeing the influx of them where everyone has them...
the difference is only what people include in the kit and the warranty that comes with it...

depends on how many you order.....the factories have a minimum order requirement ranging from 100-500 units......if you're prepared to buy 100 units you can pick them up for under $30.....though you will have to add shipping, and wire transfer fees.....and wait a month for delivery.....maybe $75 isn't that bad.....
