Janty stick - problem solved

i know this taste -- it's the taste of vaporizing the crap on an atomizer. On my previous devices (401, 901), this always meant that my liquid isn't wicking and that I need to either add more fluid or screw with the cart filler.

I've just received my first Jantystick (801 atomizers) yesterday and I haven't been able to get a good wick, at all. And even if i drop, for some reason there's no flavor. This is my first experience with an 801 atomizer/cartridge.

I've partially alleviated the problem by using napkin as a buffer between my cartridge filler and the atomizer mesh. My guess was that for some reason, the atomizer mesh simply would not accept any fluid from my filler. The problem was definitely not a lack of contact.


Any advice, anyone?

If I purchased something that was flaky out of the gate I would send it back and request a refund, then buy something else from somewhere else.

Thats strange, mines awesome and I get great flavor out of it.
More than my 510 and a lot of nice vapor.
The TH isn't as strong, but its a nice change up.

Give it some time to break in. Some break in sooner than others, and some seem to refuse to break in at all. Atomizers are cheap enough to find some that work for you, then you'll be a fan, guarantee it.

Bootyology, there is a break-in time, getting the atomizer properly primed, etc., give it some time, but I'm wondering if you have the atty turned in all the way, I have to use a ball point pen (a fat one!) to turn it in firmly enough, my finger joints are shot. Close doesn't quite get it, and for the first few times it is very very tight going in. Don't be afraid to use some muscle. FIRST: check the position of the 'bridge', then try to re-tighten, check to see if it might have turned at little, you'd be surprised at how much difference it can make between 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock. Then vape away, give yourself some nice long draws (5-6 seconds on the switch.)
Also, When you put your cart in, be sure to have the wick just showing a bit beyond the rim of the cart, and do not twist it in, go straight in, otherwise the "bridge" of the atty will actually push it away, like a lever. Wick should be wet, are you using your own juice or pre-filled? You're gonna love the 801's, huge vapor, long life cart. You didn't buy a Dud, they're absolutely great, reliable, and warranted. I wouldn't put anything between the bridge and the wick, however, will just make a bad thing worse. Also, check the wicking once in awhile, make sure it doesn't have some voids or some heavy spots. Should be nice and even from bottom to top. I even trim mine, once is awhile they get "hairy", and can stick to the mesh. Trim it even, like an oil-lamp wick, the more even the better the draw.

As Kate51 mentions in the thread, 801s can have a substantial break-in period. Some are good to go right out of the box sans the first couple of hits as the primer wears off. My first Janty atomizer took much longer to break in than any 801 I ever had before.

Also, IMHO, the Janty attys don't screw in nearly as cleanly as other atomizers (generic 4072s). Not just into the Stick but into a penstyle battery as well. The threads appear not to be cut as deep and as sharp as the other attys I've used. The Janty attys (that I received) dont have that solid feel to them as one screws them in. I've only used 3 Janty attys so the sample size is small. However, since I received them at the same time, the thought here is that they came from the same lot and that it is past time that the tooling die is replaced.

kate you were spot on. It really makes no sense to me, but screwing the atomizer in an extra few degrees completely fixed the problem. How in the world would that affect wicking? I have no idea. But I'm one happy mother-effin camper.

Great, glad to help...this is the most common problem people have when they first get their Janty S.....many also have never experienced the 801 atty and carts before either, but they all fit together very precisely, so any variation can be discouraging. The atty has to be seated just right to be able to heat sufficiently. That's why it doesn't draw right, not enough heat to vaporize properly. I've also had to clean that contact under the atty with a dry q-tip, or with a tiny bit of alcohol on it, it can get wet from juice. Doesn't heat right then either. But for the first few times you put the atty in it will be very tight going. It does get easier as everything gets broke in, even with a new atty. Hope you stocked a couple extras, I've lost two in two months. And two of those $3 batteries. Not bad!

I agree, but unfortunately only a mod could alter the thread title once it has been posted.........

OP, also consider the adjustment to the 801. When I got my Janty Stick v1 about a month ago, it took me a full week to adjust to the different characteristics of the 801 versus the 901 and 510..........

I had the stick for 4 days now and it failed yesterday. Just stopped putting out. I took the atomizer out and was pretty wet in there. I blew it out with canned air and put it back in. I can see it lighting up but it won't create any vapor. After reading this thread I pulled out a BRAND NEW CARTRIDGE, stuck it in - and wonder of wonders, it's back!

Thanks, now I know I need to monkey with the cartridges after refilling them n many times to keep em working....

nice... I had some similar issues so far... I've basically switched from the Janty Atty to the BE112 atty's (I purchase 5 spare just in case)... I get MUCH more reliable vapor / TH from them anyway...

not sure why exactly... but I'll keep trying...

Definately had a NIC attack (almost) from too much frustrated puffing etc. trying to get the Janty atty working
