Japanese vs organic cotton?

How's it going everyone. Just wanted to get some outside opinions on this. Between Japanese cotton and organic cotton which do you prefer? I made my first Japanese cotton wicks last night after using organic cotton for about a week. In my eyes the Japanese cotton is delivering a better flavor and I'm getting no nasty dry hits however I'm not seeing the vape production I'm use to on a .4 ohm build. Does Japanese cotton not allow as good vape production as organic cotton in your experience?

I have only used the organic cotton balls and from what I have seen watching atomizer builds, the Japanese pads look much easier to get wicks that are consistent in thickness and size. Otherwise, I think the biggest impact on taste (and preventing dry hits, burning etc) is going to be a product of how well you build the wick (regardless of cotton type). Using the same cotton I get results all over the board but it has improved with practice.

The Japanese cotton pads are so much easier to use, if nothing else.

I take a pad of Koh Gen Do, cut an 1/8" sliver running with the grain, separate the said into 2 long pieces and have 2 wicks ready to go.

is it recommended to split them open? because i didn't separate it i just cut 2 different pieces off and used them for my wicks

I've tried Cellucotton, PIMA, regular cotton, Ready wick, Ekowool, Organic cotton and Koh Gen Do.

For flavor and ease of wicking I've settled on KGD. I don't think I will be going back to the others although I do have plenty if ever I need some. I pretty much use the same method as eratikmind and Super X for loading my coils.

You can get it online for $12 on a bunch of beauty supply sites.

What vendor are you getting your Japanese cotton from?

Jay G
I bought mine from DermStore, but that was months ago before all the vendors started buying it all up and selling single pads for outrageous prices. It's really hit or miss whether places have them in stock or not these days.

Is boiling required before use with the Japanese organic cotton?
Not with Koh Gen Do. I'm not sure about the others.

In my opinion how do we know whats in this japanese cotton i think ill take my chances on the USA cotton but that's just my opinion?
This is why I only use Koh Gen Do cotton pads.
