is there an online store that has the black copper infinite one? that is just shameful that the clone is better than the original. I go where the quality is period. like I said I will just consider the infinite the real one.

is it true infinite even made the phantom brass formula? that is insane. it is like a 110% copy! for those that feel clone carriers are posers, not this time! I am sorry I have done this to jd but hey sir step up your game!

No, none of the clones are made with 'phantom' brass.

that's what I would have figured. the thing is all the stores that sell the infinite state in their description 'phantom brass' and explain what it is. I guess they just copied that from the jd. that is misleading ad print but quite frankly 'naval brass' is better and already an alloy. phantom brass is some concoction. I doubt jd is making that if it is real he must be sourcing it somewhere. perhaps the usual pinoy mystery metal. nonetheless I am not by any means disappointed if it does not have it. in fact the infinite is considerably heavier than the jd. whatever that says. the switch is also a lot less crunchy. the very design is going to have some crunch and this is a good copy so.... also my infinite has not gotten the usual pinoy 'measels'. I don't know if that explains anything about all the pinoy mods but you must know what im thinking. hint: I am thinking it is all the same 'brass' from over there. again, no insult intended.

Got my brass infinite clone off ebay Saturday. Not as good as I was expecting. But not a bad deal for what I paid ($39 w/shipping ). The tiube seams are not smooth all around and definitely do not disappear. So it looks good on one side but as you turn it the tube seam sticks out just a hair more on the other side. So if you slide you finger from top to bottom some seams feel smooth and some have a lip. Almost like the tube is egg shaped if that makes sense. It's very, very slight and I don't think I can get it to show in a picture.

The top cap is very slightly off set. Not noticeable unless you look for the air gaps from the top. Then you see that there is slightly more gap on two of them. Which I never see since it's covered by an atty anyway.

Also there is no way to get a kick (clone) in there and not have wide seams showing. It needs that slim kick ring that the nemesis has. I like my mechs regulated so I have a kick in all of them. Otherwise I tend to drain my batteries to low.

Overall though it doesn't bother me. For the price it is what it is. My serial number is in the mid six thousands so maybe the machine making them is due for an adjustment. Would I get another infinite, no. I think I'd try the hcigar version. I have a few things from them and they have always been really good quality wise. I wish ehpro had one. They have been the best so far for any clone items I own.

On the plus side. It looks awesome with my hcigar brass kraken on top !!!

Now I'm waiting for the v3 flip from hcigar to hit the shops. Wish that came in brass.

alxx, that is strange. for $39 I wonder if you are positive you got an infinite off ebay. since mine is actually better than the jd which I also have. I understand it is ebay but the infinite sells in stores for like $65. it is possible someone shafted you. I am not trying to be a jerk but the price and quality issues seems odd. my sn is under 300. I don't know perhaps they slacked off latter too. both the jd and infinite show threads with a kick. I don't use one. I run sonys to 2.5 at which point it is very obvious to change them. I know that is not good for them but it is within their maximum spec. I really wonder if they went so far as to copy the phantom brass. doubtful but who knows. the infinite being so much heavier would make me think not. like I said that is fine and probably better.

I guess with china there are always duds but my jd is not great either. so I wouldn't feel too bad. especially if it was an infinite for $39. I wonder if the $65-$69 going price is actually overpaying. it's okay I am satisfied.

if anyone wants to look at my other thread apparently someone is repackaging infinite products in some strange box. I saw a nemesis and chi you in those boxes. the quality was fantastic but I am not sure it is actually infinite. that being said hcigar and ehpro are usually pretty good too.

I figured that but it honestly baffles me how even china can make good ones for a couple usd. I guess I need another economics course.
I am sure to a lesser extent with pinoy mods but the same still holds true. stores act like you are robbing them if you ask for $10 off. well now I know. honestly I don't mind paying to get what I want. I see the infinite for $55-$70 at most etailers. good business to be in now apparently.

I really just went with the infinite version because of the review I saw from twisted420 on YouTube. Otherwise I would have gone with hcigar since I'm familiar with their products. Twisted420's seller that he got his from was selling them for $50. But he was sold out of the brass model before I decided I was going to get one. Prior to this all my mods have been telescopic and I wasn't sure about having to swap tubes.

But don't get me wrong. I do like it and those things I mentioned above don't bother me due to the price I paid. Heck shipping was included in that $39 and it arrive in two days. The only part that's a little annoying is the kick issue but that's my fault. I didn't research it enough. I saw a reviewer mention that a kick fits but shows a little thread. I should have paid attention to what batteries he used since they vary some what. My EH button top batteries show a LOT of thread.

nah mine came in bubble wrap. did you get the tip with it? or the fanny pack? I saw some mods in these other boxes I was wondering what they were. I can barely feel the tube seams on all my mods. real and clone. if that is what you meant. my infinite stingrays tubes are the exact same size for all practical purposes per caliper. the jd has a little less tolerance.

If I slide my finger up and down over the seams and turn the mod I can feel a slight lip protruding outward on one side yet the other side is smooth. It's that way with 650 tube and more so with the 500 tube.

Either it's ever so slightly out of round (maybe from the threading process) or there is a variation in the thickness of the tube. But like I mentioned it doesn't bother me enough to spend the time to measure it.

When you look at it you don't see the lip at the seam since it's a very slight difference. The seams are just more noticable at those points. But you do feel it when you hold it since the tubes are cut really sharp.

My brass Hcigar stingray clone wasnt exactly something to be wanted, per say. There is no mistaking this for an authentic, maybe I got a bad one who knows. But before I sanded it down and polished it, it was horrid. The switch is still crap, its to the point now it gets stuck ALL the time and fires even after I let go. I cant stand it, I dont really use it anymore, too risky for me to fiddle with or even care anymore. I cant wait to see my infinite black copper clone, the pics look amazing. But then again there just pictures too.

I mean when you are talking $180. of course the king was $240 but it is in a different league. btw, I mentioned neither is engraved I think. upon close inspection under a bright light it is shallow laser engraving on both. the copper ones look like much deeper engraving.

For what it's worth, my brass Stingray (Infinite) is absolutely flawless. Hits like a train. Seems are so tight it looks like one piece. Button was a bit finicky when I got it, but a good cleaning sorted that out.

That is one good thing about the Hcigar one, the engraving on it is decently deep but the black I took out of it. I think it looks better that way anyway. The logo on the bottom switch however was ungodly horrible before I polished it. Its not engraved either.
