I don't know who the manufacturer is but I ordered the following from Focalecig and couldn't be happier with the quality, I wish it was seamless but some are and some aren't.

The engravings on the button and tube are etched in and have nice depth, the switch performs flawlessly after cleaned.

Drip tip is not plated but solid stainless and brass, nicely etched also.

Here it is with a "white russian" sitting on top with the included drip tip.

When I first got it, no patina

I haven't polished it whatsoever, just wipe with a microfiber cloth every now and then.

How long did it take you to get a patina like that?

I got mine earlier last week but had trouble with the switch. The magnet wouldn't stay put and eventually snapped. Got a replacement today and glued that Damn magnet in. Cleaned out the threading had a wonderful ECF member walk me through assembling the switch again. Newbie with mods, only have a kamry k100 which is now my plug and play... No fiddling!

Anyhow, I loveeeeee this thing. Hits like a TRAIN. Can only imagine what it'll be like when I get into rba.

How do I avoid patina? I love the shiny brass.

There's a product called everbrite that seems interesting: http://everbritecoatings.co.uk/copper-and-brass-88-c.asp It's rather pricey though.
You could also powder coat clear. Been considering that myself actually.. I have some I could use.

I'm sure there are other options, I'm just not familiar with them.

I've been using brasso to clean mine. I also found a jewelry polish towel at Walmart (in the jewelry section) that works amazingly.

Well I got my Hcigar stingray yesterday and its not bad. Threads were clean and are super smooth, everythings how it should be but I do have a problem. My button keeps getting stuck, not stuck like it keeps firing but I have to keep pulling it back out. Hits like a beast though. The engravings on it arent the best, there already fading with the soak I did which is fine cause I think itll look better, the logo on the bottom button is just god awful though, like they should of just not even attempted it in the first place.

would you recommend the hcigar version besides the logo looking off?does it have button problem?that's the only clone available here so I don't have any choice besides buying it and not buying it.

I've seen a number of people suggest that simply cleaning the mod daily with a polishing cloth will keep patina away. I'm guessing that those people have acid-free hands. Within two or three minutes of touching my brass and copper mods my fingers stink and the surface of the mod has noticeable changes. Can anyone from the just wipe it down regularly camp report in about the acidity of their hands, ie has this method actually worked for someone with 'nasty hands?'

It performs well enough. The floating 510 is a little finicky and the button is crunchy even after a good clean, but it's a sharp mod none the less. Hits well, low voltage drop, very nice looking. I think the logo looks great, mine is very well etched.

Interesting, maybe I'll pick some up stateside. Or just dig through this topic and see a clear picture of am aged patina. Do brass mods like this suffer from a patina? Even long term?

Unless its clear coated of some sort (as mentioned above) it pretty much impossible to avoid a patina unless you polish continually.

Dunno what kind of results you'll get from a polished one but the brushed version puts on a pretty nice patina (imo) pretty quick.

This one hasn't been cleaned/re-brushed in many weeks:

Still pretty impressed with how little the seam shows on this version (unknown manufacturer, brushed version from FT).
