Jeans or a skirt?

Ok, I realize I'm kind of a throwback. As soon as the weather warms up I break out the skirts and dresses. I feel most comfortable dressing like a "girl" it suits my figure and my personality. I don't get my hair or nails done-but a feminine outfit makes me FEEL feminine and pretty. So. How about you ladies? Do you prefer jeans or a skirt or something different all together? And, why?

I am quite over-weight so I like dresses because they are comfy. I don't do the nylons but usually wear thongs or sandals with them. I have some winter dresses too and will wear boots w/ socks. But I must say I kinda look like a whale in them. Nothing feminine about me in a dress. I loaded trucks for 23 years and couldn't wear dresses. Also, on the days when I ride my motorcycle to work I can't wear dresses!!!:D

I own about 2 skirts and no dresses..unless you count the housedresses I wear in the summer around the house. I make them myself and they are just a simple muumu without the cap sleeves and a full empire, calf length skirt.

I have bird legs and a round middle..so I am a weeble on short toothpicks..not dress material!
For summer its shorts, jeans or even pedal pushers ( clam diggers, just below the knee pants..whatever they are called now!) Come to think of except for sweats it's the same thing I wear in the winter. Gotta love Florida!

Used to wear a lot of dresses, but HATE the 'maternity dress' cut that's been in style for a few years now! When you're skinny, just NOT attractive...you look like you have two little 'toothpicks' moving you along. Yuck.

tank tops and jeans.

Until they start making some form fitting dresses again...

Domino: I buy either consignment or make a lot of my dresses in a "retro" style for this reason. My waist should be enhanced by the dress not hidden. Can't wear the slinky dresses (I am a bit too hippy) But I need the waistline to be in it's proper place.

I love a good tee shirt and jeans, don't get me wrong. A properly fitting pair of jeans are amazingly flattering, they're just harder to find then a simple dress.
