So, from my new members posts, via the atmoniser posts to here....
My vaping journey has covered the last 20/25 years...

Anyhow my experiments lead me to here...

So wattage s between 15 and 20....

Juice is custard.

Currently 50/50 is working.

NIC is 6mg. (Salt)

Atty is 1.5 ohm

Satisfaction is about 70%

Flavour is missing a bit.... But I can now track that down.

See my other posts for what I need to do next to satisfy my needs.

But got me thinking about reviews and descriptions.

How do we review flavour?
That is the difficult bit....

If I was to ask what colour grass is, everyone will tell me it is green. But that is because you are taught that the stuff cows and horses eat is called grass. You are also taught that grass is green.

That does not mean that you actually see the same colour as me..... But whatever colour you DO see, you call green.

So reviews of flavour are kind of irrelevant.

Some people like light brown toast, some people like dark brown toast.

If you consider dark brown toast as burned, how can you review a flavour?

So, we have to kind of ignore what taste people want, and concentrate on helping people achieve what they are after...
Doublethink as George Orwell would say..

Do I need a liquid that some people call sickly? Or do I just need to know how to best use what I have, to achieve the best I want.....

It is only now that I am realising the gulf between subjective and objective

Further little ramble.....

I just wish I could go back to 2007/8 and show my Elitar on the video chat

Digital display, a TANK?

Some kind of black magic?

Oh wow, forget all the philosophical argument against time travel, I would love to see the reaction to my mod.

It may be hard for you younger ones to realise, but vaping has changed from the Flintstones to the jetsons in only few years....

Seems to me that you are way overthinking this. Just enjoy.

What I am trying to describe is the pipe smokers view.

If a cigarette smoker wants to change brand, they just buy a different packet of cigs.

If a pipe smoker wants to change brand, they have to think about how that change will affect smoking 30years ahead.

It is very hard to describe to someone not in the exact same position.

Remember that when I wanted to know about Petersons Irish Whiskey, o had to send a letter, wait 2 months for the new magazine, then see what people thought.

I have been alive longer without internet than it has existed.

So overthinking?yes!

This is how pipe smoking was.

I am of the age that if my toes curled up tomorrow, hey ho, not a problem

So I have a choice....

In 48 Hours i can have a tin of Petersons here. I have matches and my pipes.

But I want to vape. I want to recreate the feeling that us 30 people spread round the globe were the pioneers

Failing that, am still going to see my chap in Harrogate and also place an order with black swan and Stoke up the pipe.

It may be me, bit it does appear that the community factor does seem to be missing

We never accused each other for over thinking.

We just chatted about our vaping quest.

The phrase, "taste is subjective" is popular here. Basically, what I like you won't necessarily like, and vice versa. That's why the vast majority of us ignore flavor reviews, because for the most part they are irrelevant. Makes sense, right?

And I can state quite confidently that every tank or atomizer will produce a slightly different flavor or taste than another.

Older tech gear is getting harder to find every year, so having an open mind for the newer tech gear is almost a necessity.

I've said before that a big part of vaping is enjoying the journey, not necessarily the destination. Your last post alludes to that realization.

I got you. I'm looking for something that would resemble in taste the smell of macaroons with hot chocolate in my grandparents' living room on a Sunday morning after church. How good a sweet flavor is to me, is measured relative to that point.

You'll find what you miss when you have stopped looking because you were not looking when you had it.
