After fighting with atomizers for half a year I decided to take someones advice on here and use the 510 cartomizers. I've been using them for over 2 months now and love them, but just recently ran into a problem. They always seem to last for at least a week (but I'm prone to dropping them and breaking them before they had a chance to die :p). On my newest order I ended up dropping one, but it didn't break...it did taste burnt though...so I discarded it. I opened a new one and after vaping the pre-filled juice I re-filled it...and it too kinda tasted a little burtish...but I don't know if it was just in my head since the flavor I was using to re-fill it was also the flavor I used in the one I dropped.

While looking up more info on cartomizers I became confused on how to refill them. For the past few months I've just taken the tip off the mouth piece, dropped a few drops in there, waiting for it to soak down, then I was good to go. I've always done that and it seemed to work great...never had to wait a half hour like I read some people saying. Is this not a good way to refill it? Have I just never noticed I was vaping "brunt cartomizer" until now? :p Your thoughts please.

And thanks for everyone's input on here. You've always been very helpful.

If your cartomizer is empty it will take more than a few drops to fill it. Depending on the size and type It will take 15-20 drops at the minimum to fill a cartomizer, about 5 drops at a time wating for what you just put in to soak into the carto stuffing completely. If you are starting with a fresh blank or empty carto then you will have to let them sit for a bit after filling to get them primed all the way for Vaping. There ar emany many youtube vids on different ways to fill, two of the fastest are using the carto condom to force the liquid in from the connector end by filling the condom halfway and pushing the carto down into it. Another is using a blunt tip or plastic flexi tip syringe to fill them(i use this method on my larger cartomizers) but I still let them sit for at least 15 to 20 minutes before using and fill more than one.

I'll be watching this thread as I've had similar thoughts recently. I'm starting to realize that the filler really needs to stay super soaked. Like if you fill it the first time using the condom fill method, then top it off with a few drops when the flavor starts to fade- after that, I think your next refill should be condom fill again, with about 8-10 drops in the condom, to make sure its staying moist as opposed to just the top of the filler being wet. (Or use a syringe and squirt into the sides of the filler material.)

Same juice I always use. Green mint, sam mint, and menthol vg I get from cignot. I tried the condom fill, but it seemed easier to just take the tip off and let it drop down the 2 holes on the inside. It just now seems I got this problem after months of great vaping. I typically use 7 drops...I used to use more, but I got sick of it dripping out the other end. (which is what would always happen on over 10 drops)

2 holes? there should only be one, down the center of the carto filling and you should do your best to avoid getting any directly into the center hole. If it is coming out of the connector hole you either flooded the coils by filling too quickly or you flooded them with over filling.

Yeah, under the tip is another plastic piece. You can take it out, but I just leave it in. It's two holes on the left side and the right side of the piece. I figured since people stick the mouth piece in the condom to re-fill the cartomizer...it must go in the same way.

I must have been filling it too quickly, the reason I went to 7 drops was because I though I was over filling it and 7 seemed to give me a couple of "cigarettes worth" of vaping. but I also heard people say that juice coming out the other end is normal. mail.google.com.jpg

I talked to the lady I bought them from. Turns out those two holes were the "air ports" and if you take the plastic piece off the fill port is there, but you have to poke a hole in it. I took one apart and the only thing I can figure was I was filling from the air ports and the juice was hitting the bottom of the stuffing or the wick and coming back up from the bottom into the suffing. Other than that I don't see how the heck I've been vaping for these months. o_O I will post pictures when I have time.

Thank you. In converting and supplying over 100 people with juice and hardware I've found the weak link in Vaping are the delivery systems- cartos, cartridges, etc. Although there is a learning curve associated with tanks once you've found your sweet spot the delivery system issue is resolved. You also may want to try either Boge or SmokTech cartos. You'll find many touting both brands. I use Smok Tech cartos and get at least 2 weeks out of each one in a tank. Refilling tank about twice per day. Just always remember the first fill of the carto is VERY IMPORTANT even if it means overfilling. Search PBusardo filling Boges on YouTube. Remember keyword when pushing carto down into condom of juice is to do it VERY SLOWLY. condom filll can be done from mouth end or battery end.
Good Luck.
Edit: you may want to consider an XL ( extra large) Carto as these take more juice and thus less refilling.

Although Joye is known for quality PVs they are not renowned for their cartos. They're prolly #5 on the list. Smok Tech and Boges are # 1 and 2 in no particular order.

It's just clled the genuine joye 510 cartomizer. Seems codom fill won't work with these. You can apparently "bottom fill" so I guess technically I was "bottom filling it" through the air ports :p. Still not sure why I just started having a problem with a burning taste though.

I tell you what, I just got some boge 510 cartos and...I think I like the joye 510 better. I fallowed filling instructions and I don't get much vapor and it taste like I'm vaping an atty with no juice on it. I started fallowing how to fill a joye 510 carto and again...I feel like I got better performace filling it back up the "wrong way". through the air holes. :p I may just go back to the joye 510s and fill them the wrong way. :p I dunno why I had problems with this one batch of mine...all my others worked very well.
