If your new to all of this it can be somewhat confuzing. I have found the Joye eGo, the Janty eGo, the 510 eGo, the wicked tornado, and the x power (eGo) WOW there not all the same. the Joye,Janty and the tornado are made by joytech. The 510 eGo made by Bauway. The x power (eGo) don't know who makes it (yet) I have the Joye and I like It! If you want a Ego or a look a like eGo you need to do your home work. You can find lots of good info in here.

I'd like more clarification on this too, as a total newbie to the hobby. I've got a Janty eGo and love it, but I'm confused as to the proliferation of companies selling something called an "eGo". Are they all the same, and simply have different logos slapped on them, or do they vary by company? I had initially assumed that eGo referred to one specific model, but now it seems to mean something more like "car battery"... That is, a generic term for an item that's manufactured by a dozen different companies. Or is this not the case?

Joye invented the Ego, and as far as I know, they also manufacture the Janty and possibly a couple of others (the Tornado?).

mac

Hi mac,
Please, let me clarify this and if you want solid proof to this, you may go to the Janty Forum..
Mik from Janty is the one who invented the eGo.
Joye is JUST the manufacturer of the Janty eGo and Tornado. (also the Joye eGo)
As for everything else, if the supplier says that its a Joye eGo, 99% it will be a Joye eGo..
But there are others that say its from Joye and its not.

Hope this clarifies some of the misconceptions on who invented the eGo.

(FYI - Joye makes a great product and please ask if its a joye if the site doesn't specify it)
