The resistance won't affect the battery life on a regulated mod, only watts do.Hi all. I just got my Cuboid 3 days ago. I immediately updated the firmware to v3.10 to bring it up to 200 watts. I purchased new Samsung 25Rs to use in this device. I also purchased the Cubis Atomizer just for some MTL stealth vaping. I purchased a second set-up for my brother who is a relatively new vapor who has been disappointed with leaky subtanks and short battery life on his previous mods.
My other 2 battery mod is an XCube II upgraded to 185 watts. I use both the TFV4 with 1.5 ohm Quad Coils on the XCubeII and a TFV4 Mini with 3.5 ohm Clapton Coils, both set between 60 and 85 watts.
Not a true comparison between the XCubeII and the Cuboid as much as my thoughts as related to my vaping habits and equipment. The battery life on the Cuboid is a bit less than the XCubeII. I can load 2 fresh batteries in the XCubeII and with the 1.5 ohm quad coil in the TFV4 when chain vaping at around 70 watts, I get about 6 hours of battery life. With the TFV4 mini and the 3.5 ohm Clapton Coil at 60 watts, the battery life is about the same. Either of these tanks and coils at the same wattage on the Cuboid is only about 3 hours.
If I put on the Cubis tank, which is pretty much a MTL tank with restricted airflow, I set the wattage at 30 to 35 watts, and using the .5 ohm coil. Chain vaping, the battery life improves to 6 or 7 hours.
My non chain vaping brother has been using his Cuboid and Cubis with the .5 ohm coil set at 30 watts for 2 days now without charging. No leaks from the tank and he loves not having to charge it every 4-6 hours like his Sig 75 with a .5 ohm coil in the subtank.
I like the Cuboid, the menu is easy to work and I love the size of it but it has no battery life for sub .5 ohm builds at wattage above 35 watts. It is a great device for someone like my brother with a tank like the Cubis or Subtanks or if you want a higher wattage device for on the go. But if you have lower ohm builds the battery life sucks.
You won't be disappointed in either! If it's not to late to cancel, check out the prices for both at vapenw.com. I bet with shipping it wouldn't be much more than $10 over the fasttech price and you'll have them in 3 or 4 days.Haha, couldn't decide between the cuboid and tc100w (tc100w was edging ahead after trawling these threads and reading comments on both), but I absolutely love my eVic VTC minis so it was a close call...so.... ended up getting both from FT!Just the month wait now!!
Smart mode was created for use with the cubis with ss coils...Anyone tired new firmwire for cuboid and smart mode? I dont get what this mode is, is it for all type wires? Because with nife and ni coils on 0.2ohm I get dry hit over 20W or 25W? Does this do tc because I cant get how is it posible to get dry hit if it does tc in smart mode?
Well they could write that on upgrade page, I can see lots of people burning their coils to figure this out. What a pointless update in my opinion. I was so happy i thought its something like cloupor minis+ auto mode which is really great.Smart mode was created for use with the cubis with ss coils...

There is a great improvement in this update... Now, while regulating watts in tc mode, you can also regulate down. It was a pita when i was in 40w and wanted to decrease to 30w, had to go all the way to 200w... Much easier and confortable nowWell they could write that on upgrade page, I can see lots of people burning their coils to figure this out. What a pointless update in my opinion. That is s much needed improvement. So I take it from the last couple of posts there's a new update from 3.1There is a great improvement in this update... I just noticed the "New" Gray is a lot lighter in color! It took me a while to decide between Black and Gray when I first bought mine. Is there any other difference you know of other than the color shade?I purchased all three colors last week (found one in the dark gray) and I have stored all of my other mods and only use these now. At the moment I have 3mm SS .21 build in SS temp mode at 46w with the TCR set to 200 and the vape is stellar. I do believe SS will be the only wire I use now.

supposed to be common settings if and only if you are using the Cubis Atomizer they are now combining in starter kits with the Evic vtc/Cuboid.Anybody understand this new smart mode that's been added in update 3.11. Joyetech's explanation is kind of vague and I haven't been able to find much info on it.

Is that the one that you PM'd me about ? That looks nice indeed.
I agree with you on the wire. Since I've started using SS everything is better. Flavor, ease of builds, TC... As for the mod I thought when i got my cuboid that this was it, the bees knees etc... At least until I got my hands on the istick 100w TC. Now my cuboid is the backup mod.

Not with regulated mods. Watts are watts. Check steam engine if you don't believe me.Incorrect. It is the amperage draw that governs battery life, and different resistance atomizers fired at the same wattage will pull different amounts of current. Lower resistance requires more amperage for the same wattage.
