My good friends gave me a Cuboid and Cubis as a birthday gift yesterday, and I'm enjoying them both.

I've come up with a question on the Cuboid and hoping some of those that have had one for a little while can offer advice....

The owner's manual suggests not charging it via the USB port (without suggesting why). Charging the batteries externally isn't a problem at home, but I'd like to bring it with me on trip this next week, and I won't be bringing my battery charger.

While charging the batteries externally is apparently preferred, does it do ok charging via USB in a pinch? Is the concern damage to the device, or simply a balance charging issue charging it via USB?

Replaced my Cuboid(Black) for a tiny defect, and the Black one they sent me has the Joyetech Cuboid text on the back in Dark Black instead of White, which I thought made it look very good and made the back stick out!! Idk why they have been changing the Colors up like this..

Wow. What was your defect?
I've been FB messaging them two weeks after I got mine as the black paint is coming off and looks like crap. Had an iStick for a year as my daily mod and it looked a hundred times better. Emailed customer service and have had no reply

I've used USB port at work a few times. No issues.
I messaged joyetech and they said it's ok but to remove batteries as it's much faster

The 510 was slightly faulty, I had to tinker with the o-ring/grommet around it to get a good connection. I bought mine through MyVaporStore and sent them one e-mail about it and they sent me a return form/paid postage no questions asked to send it to them to replace. I still miss the White writing on the back! Oh well, I got a couple of good Silicone Sleeves off ebay, and they dont feel like any other Silicone sleeve I have tried, its really smooth and doesn't collect dust, lint, etc.

So what's the verdict? I've heard nothing but good things elsewhere and then I come to ECF before I pull the trigger and read lots of accounts of terrible battery life for a dual battery mod and issues with the finish wearing off easily. I was initially going to get a Presa 75tc but then started considering the cuboid since it was only a couple bucks more for more battery life and power and wasn't that much bigger but after reading this thread I'm having second thoughts.

I was also on the fence for a long time. Buy, not buy, buy. Now that it's here, I am quite pleased with it. It's a real hefty piece. And packs a real punch.

I cannot fault it for it's battery life as I use it at high wattages (80+). It just sucks them dry, but it is to be expected with my vape behaviour.

Battery life is grossly understated IMO

my cuboid lasts just as long as my IPV4. roughly a from the time i wake up u til i sleep or an hour or two i to6 the next day.

Bought my wife a VTC mini to replace her IPV4. it says "weak battery" after a few hours @50w. the IPV4 lasted her 2.5days

A set of 25r's last me usually all day, either at 50w in power mode or 400f on my TC builds, chain vaping often through the day. Other 2 bat mods get slightly longer power, but I'm happy with it. TC, once dialed in, is excellent for such a cheap mod. The 25 amp limit isn't of any concern to me, I'm nowhere near it. The new grey color is showing no scratches or wear, but the black plastic display strip has picked up a few minor scratches on it from pocketing. Only drawback I have is weight, suckers heavy, and you know it's in your pocket while out n about. For the price and performance, I'd highly recommend it.
