Focalecig just listed the tanks separately for about $20. From the size measurements it looks like they'd fit perfectly on an Evic Mini, but isn't the Cuboid Mini a bit smaller than the Evic?

OK, checked further and it seems that the evic is 3 mm wider (on the long side) than the tank. Should be an ok fit, as long as the 510 on the Cuboid mini and evic mini are placed the same.

"What advantage a buil-in LiPo?" ... Higher CDR, I should think.
Convenience too, of course.

I've come to the view that if someone is not willing to learn how to apply watt's law to figuring out what battery to use they should stick with built in batteries. Having boards that allow 75 watts on one 18650 then allowing users to choose the battery involves some risk to a brand.

Indeed. The current trend of 75w-80w single 18650 mods is riding the razor's edge.

When they were 65w max, I had no issue with using my strong 20A CDR cells.
I'd already be swapping to a dual cell mod though, just to keep from flatting the battery quickly, if I was vaping that high.

At 75-80w, I'd have to shop some Sonys or other 25-30A cells, and give up some mAh.

These built-ins should be capable of the mod's max wattage... all day long.

I'm sticking with my 18650 mods, but that's one justification for fixed cells, IMO.

My biggest problem with fixed batteries is that essentially your buying a disposable mod. When the batteries have exhausted their charge life your left with a $55 paperweight.

Along those lines, I just dropped and killed my VF mini clone.(8 months use).
Unless the device is a mech..
THEY are all disposable.
Something WILL kill them.
Wire breaks, boards fry, battery cap threads fail, 510 threads fail, 510 pin fails, display fails, buttons fail, it takes a bath, etc.

I prefer a removable battery, but with a regulated device, I'm finding the unit dies long before the battery within needs replacing.
YMMV

If I needed another TC device, this one is at the top of the list.
Cheers

I just watched another video and it looks like the new notch coil that comes with the kit tank will also work with the Cubis tank. He also shows that the notch coil can be re-wicked and re-used. It looks pretty simple and looks like that coil could last quite a long time, pretty interesting.

I received my Cuboid Mini kit today and figured I'd leave my first impressions here.

I'm even more pleased with the design than I thought I would be. It feels great in the hand and the build quality is fantastic. It's even smaller than I expected and fits snuggly in my front pocket next to my phone. As we've come to expect, Joyetech's board works like a charm. Unfortunately, it's not all peaches.

First; holy spitback! Even at 170 Celsius, which I'd consider barely acceptable for direct-to-lung vaping, I get spitback frequently. Anything above 175 Celsius is unvapeable. I've since learned that this has been a recurring issue with the Cubis coils and it seems like Joyetech has not eliminated this problem with their new Notch coil. I hope I have a better experience with different coils/juice, or this atomizer will see a very early retirement.

Second; the Atomizer gets very hot. This is something I would've been able to live with if it didn't liquify the glue they used for the plastic cover overlaying the juice window. This leaves a clearly visible fog in front of the juice window and made it incredibly easy to peal off (it looked ridiculous). I was able to stick it back on this time, but I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before I lose it for good.

Next to a Subtank Mini on a SMPL Mod and an Innokin T18:

The Smpl is a direct to battery mod, right? No 510 pin. In that case, don't use the Subtank on it! You're risking shorting the battery!

Higher viscosity juice does work a lot better with the Notch coil. I wouldn't recommend this atomizer for anyone vaping less than max VG juice, though.

Thanks for the heads up! That setup worked great after a modification to the Subtank, but is since retired :)

Thanks for the first impression!

You got it pretty quick, E-Wolk..?

I'm still considering this as a back up mod for my Evic VT, although the Athena Envy 22 also caught my interest recently... (I have a thing for build in batteries).

I'm curious how this thing functions in SS Temp mode, do you have any plans to try that perhaps?

By the time a "disposable mod" finally bites the dust...you'll be eager to replace it with a lighter/smaller one...with much more battery mAh and (as of now) unthought of features...at half the price of the one that died!

SS Temp mode works perfect for me. Also changing out the drip tip to a different one I had laying around seemed to help with the spitting considerably.

Missed this post earlier, but thanks!

I often use a longer narrower drip tip because I like the restriction by the way, but they also work great against spit-back.

As for the build in batteries discussion, even those are often replaceable if needed be. Personally I prefer them greatly.

Yeah, didn't have the patience for Fasttech. E-Wolk had a reasonable deal that included five extra Notch coils. And I heard there's some issues with the accuracy of the temperature control on the Notch coils because of the Nickel leads. Temperature Protection seems to kick in fine though, so I'm satisfied too.

I am getting constant spitting and hot juice from the tank I like the look of the tank on the cuboid mini but the performance of the tank sucks
I've been using the delrin drip tip included with the Cuboid Mini and haven't had any issues since. This style of drip tip does restrict the airflow though, which is a shame. I agree that this amount of spitback is not acceptable, but I've been enjoying my kit nontheless.

And the Notch coil is absolutely fantastic. I find myself taking much short hits because of the short ramp up time and the flavor is amazing!

I've had good experience with Ewolk myself as well. I rather pay a little more and not wait so long on things to arrive too, plus if there is a problem with a product at least it won't take months to get things sorted out.

I am still waiting to hear back from their customers service though. It's been 4 days already since I emailed them about a small problem I had with my last order. I guess I'll give them a call if I still haven't heard from them tomorrow.

Still interested in the little Cuboid mini but not so much in the tank to be honest. I prefer my own builds anyway, so I hope they start selling the mod separately soon.

Cheers!

Seriously considering buying this. Have been waiting for this form factor. The spitback reports have me concerned though.

Is there a spitback issue with the 1.5 clapton and 1.0 ss316 as well ? Only interested in those two coils and the RBA head really. Anyone care to share their experience with those coils, if any ?
