I suppose the 5 pack is okay for the times where you just need a quick new coil and don't wanna rebuild at that moment? And of course as stocking stuffers for all your friends with Ego One's! :p

Ok, is it horrible that I'm on MVS site for these coils and I'm drooling over the Coolfire IV mod?? But hey... the Ego One tanks can still go on them!

Unless if they are made of brass in which case sooner or later the outer chromium (or whatever) layer will start flaking. In this case you better go with the 5-pack since it's cheaper than 5 singles
Hence my question. So no user has any idea?

I have sent an email to Joyetech USA asking what metals are used in the CLR heads. Even if I had one, the magnet test wouldn't determine whether or not it was stainless or brass. (too expensive to sacrifice one by filing on it) I'm guessing plated brass. I've heard that they are really good about responding in a timely fashion. Will post response soon as it's received.

Just doing a scratch test, they look like they are SS.
If you don't get a complete answer from JT, I'm happy to halve one with the dremel. (in the name of science, not because I like to destroy things )

Cheers

I've been pondering discharge to recharge times on the 1100 mah version and decided to conduct some tests. (what a way to spend 20 min of my life) 5 second draws, 0.5 ohm CL head, 1 amp charger, starting at full charge. To make things a bit more interesting, I did two tests of three. Three while discharging with charger connected, or pass-through. Three without, then plugging in as close to end of discharge cycle as I could. Which was rather tricky, mind you. Averages had a +/- spread of approximately 10 seconds

In pass-through mode it took an average of 3 min to "catch up" from a 5 sec pull.
Disconnected took another full minute at an average of 4.

I was kind of surprised to see pass-through make that much difference.

Now I realize the time/rate won't be linear from full to cutoff voltage, but are some numbers nonetheless.

In the name of science! Lol

Thanks for the replies. If the scratch test came up negative I suppose they are steel. Good!

...and so I just ordered a 5-pack along with a replacement tank as I managed to brake the glass on mine . It will take a while to get here but I'm willing to sacrifice one, despite Joyetech's reply. I hated the original heads and went to dripping. Hopefully with the CLRs I can get it back to use

Are you in the US? Were you able to get just the top portion of tank? EVcigarettes sells just the top. 5.99 for 1.8ml, and 6.99 for the 2.5 in black and brushed stainless.

Sweet Vapes also has the CLR coils, a tad cheaper too. Hmm... .5 or 1 ohm for mouth to lung hits where the airflow is very small? I'm guessing I should prob go with the 1 ohm?

You guess correctly :) The 1 Ohm coil has smaller openings for air flow compared to the .5 ohm coil. Makes for a fairly tighter draw in comparison, and sounds like what you are looking for.

View attachment 459150 Just received black Atomic RDA vapemail today. I'd say it matches pretty well. 96mm long in this configuration. Can't believe it showed up from Shenzhen to my doorstep in 6 days! Gonna do a Dragon Nano build of about 0.7-0.8 ohm.

I like that set up! Where did you get the atomic from, and how is it performing for you ? Mind sharing a link?

I did have to work on the 510 connection a bit. Got handy with a diamond crusted jewelers file. Prob took 1.5-2 mm off.

Help please? I need to order coils, and I see some sites just say "atomizer head coils" while others say "CL atomizer head coils". I can't find anything explaining the difference, so I'm not sure what to order. (Not interested in rebuildable at this time.)

The 0.5 ohm coil burnt on me yesterday (not sure why - maybe juice was too low? So hard to tell juice levels in these things!) so I'm switching to the 1.0 coil today, but I really want 0.5 ohms.

Thanks for any advice!

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your email. I believe the wire made in construction of the CLR Atomizer Heads are stainless steel but the atomizer itself is kanthal. Please let me know if that information is helpful.

Believe? Lol! Smh
