What else have we got to do ? :)
You are most welcome, Thank you!

I'm a little slow sometimes…just realized that a)this post is part of a forum section dedicated to Cignot and b)that is your company!

Yeah, I ordered it, ran straight to this forum to brag about it, and in the time it took me to write a post the darn thing was already marked as shipped! Pretty amazing. Thanks!

By go bad, I mean the flavor, vapor and throat hit get to the point where I can't taste or feel them anymore. I have turned the wattage up to see if that would help, but it did not.

I have tried 50/50, 65/35 and 80/20 PG/VG inside the tank and get the same result out of all of them.

On my first egrip I removed the screw all the way, but on this one I have just opened the airflow as far as I can without removing the screw.

Admittedly I am not the most knowledgeable vaper around so any suggestions would be great. Flavor is the most important part of the experience for me.

Ok. Are you running dark or sweet liquids? The sweeter a liquid is the faster a coil will crud up, basically with the sweetener getting 'baked' onto the coil & wick. Flavors that are really dark tend to pose the same problem. I can't run a flavor like Chocolate Fudge Brownie for more than 2 days before a coil become unusable - very dark and very sweet in that case. If I want to vape that flavor it's the price I gotta pay. In the case of an eGrip I would put those flavors in with the rebuildable atty before I would use a pre-built coil.

The other thing that can make any coil/wick go downhill rapidly is running it too hot - it only makes the 'baking' onto the atty and coil happen even faster. If anything, in some other threads people were hoping for a higher resistance stock coil for the eGrip as they don't like how hot the dual coil is running even at the lowest wattage setting. Just something to consider.

Welp. Just ordered a woodgrain eGrip body and RBA base kit from Cignot. 62.50 with free shipping, not too bad! I like that they have the option to get the eGrip with RBA as a kit a little cheaper without the drip tip and micro USB, which god knows I have plenty of lying around the house already. Also, it apparently comes with the 510 adapter thing to check ohms, which is just nifty.

Can't wait to play with it!

I noticed that as well when I scoped out the site to order the atty and the 510 adapter for it - Cignot has the best ala carte options I've seen.

Just to let you know:

I've tried several different drip tips and they all fit so far. The opening for the drip tip seems to be "wonderfully average". lol It's also plenty deep to fit large drip tips with double o-ring ends. I really like the stainless tip that came in the kit though.

You need a 1 amp USB power supply. I've put the eGrip on a USB meter during charge cycles and it draws 750 mA when charging, so avoid any 500 mA USB power supplies as they won't be sufficient.

Hey, thanks for that heads up! I currently have a 500 mA that I use to charge my istick and I have noticed that it takes FOREVER…I will for sure upgrade to a 1 amp before my eGrip comes in (it was mailed like 15 minutes after I ordered it, but with the post office holiday I'm not expecting it till next week and will be pleasantly shocked if it shows up earlier). I am not a fan of stainless drip tips for some reason, so I didn't mind getting one without. Hopefully one of my wood ones or my copper one will fit, I was a little concerned that it would get here and I wouldn't be able to use one of the ones I already have so I'm happy to hear that it's a good average size.

You can always get your tracking number from your Cignot account if you want to see when it's coming. It sounds like your stuff and mine went out on the same day - mine is supposed to be here Friday.

I would be curious to know what your instructions will say about what power supply to use, since it's not included in the "body only" version. Joyetech puts out some great gear, but the instruction sheets have been consistently crappy over all the years. lol - sorta. The instructions in the full kit are so spartan, yet so terrible at the same time. If they don't mention a minimum power supply to be used that would be a major slip-up..

I've used my iPhone power block, as well as some other USB connections in my Jeep, and computer. I'm petty sure most Usb power ports I use are 2amp, with my iPad power being 5amp. On the 2amp iPhone charger, it charges in about 20 -30 minutes (I'll pay closer attention to time next full charge, but it's FAST)

My Cignot tracking number still says "electronic tracking info sent to post office". I'm in NC and they're in IL, so I suppose it could make it Friday. I'm not putting too much faith in the USPS this time of year, bless their hearts. They already kicked my husband out of the post office today at 2:55 because he wanted to pay our PO box rent for the year and they were closing at 3pm. :)

I'm waiting on a fun new toy, with a perfectly satisfying and useful pv already in my hand, so I'm not sweating too hard. LOL.

The charger that I currently use is the little white cube for my iPhone, too, interstink…and it is 500 mAh. It takes it about 4 hours to charge a fully dead iStick. My kindle hooked to the USB port on my macbook charges a little faster, but I read that you're not supposed to use the iPhone block thing to charge it via the outlet for some reason?? Anyone use a car charger on their pv, or is that a bad idea?

Car charging can be very dodgy as those 12 volt "convenience outlets" - cough cough - cigarette lighter sockets - are not voltage regulated. Car voltage is not a rock steady 12 volts and cheapo 12v to USB auto adapters have been reported as frying more than one device here on ECF because of that. A quality auto to USB adapter will have it's own input voltage regulation, but those $5.00 or less adapters seldom do. Put 12 volts in get 5 volts out. Put 14 volts in - get 6.5 volts out and a fried e-cig battery. I paid 30 bucks for a decent car to USB power adapter at Radio Schlock. It would be cheaper to get a higher current AC to USB power supply to use in house.

Don't know nuttin' about those evil Apple power supplies. :p

Hiya Vicky - totally new to vaping and the forum, but wanted to say I've picked up not one but two eGrips from your Brick & Mortars. First one a couple weeks ago in Elmhurst from David who was super cool, and today in Addison from Tanya who was super cool as well.

First off, I want to thank you for the effort to even have B&Ms in this day and age (and it's apparent you have your shipping act together, too!). My first job was in a hardware store, and while the nearest mom & pop to me is pretty good, most people's opinion of B&Ms nowadays come from big box stores.

I also wanted to clarify my mention of you in my new member post, that the love I speak of is for the B&M thing above - I'm not going to stalk you :p

I plan on being a regular customer (the Addison location is closest to me) - you got a good egg in David, as I walked in as what I think would be a pretty tough customer - not in needing convincing to use an e-cig, that was already a done deal - but in the laundry list of demands I had in what I was buying. He read me like a book, sold me an eGo, and when I went back for the eGrip, same deal.

Suffice to say, I really, really dig the eGrip as a new vaper (on day 25 of zero cigs). Anyone reading this thread in Chicagoland thinking about one should drop the jing at Cignot for it, or order up vape mail.

Does anyone know how much space the RBA base takes up inside of the Egrip? As in how much juice space does it take up?

Thanks in advance.

Hey SG

What TennDave said. If you look at the pictures ~>~>~> https://www.cignot.com/product_p/joy-egr-rba.htm the form factor is identical, it's just the parts are being utilized differently. In other words, on the RBA the coil fits into what would be the empty base on a standard assembly, and what would be the stock atty is now an empty 'chimney' to connect to the vent tube. Don't see any difference in the actual size of the bits. (But I don't actually have one yet. Friday is a loooong ways off. :( )

Thank you Mr Sparkle. David will be pleased to hear that! I think we have a great staff... each and every one of us brings something to the party we call Cignot.

BTW the stalking thing had not crossed my mind :)

Happy New Year to you and Thank you again!!

No ifs, ands, or buts... egrip is a well thought-out and designed PV. I wasn't overly enthused with it until I got the RBA - definite game changer with higher resistance coil and rayon wick. Now that Cignot has the silicone sleeve, I've had to place another order! Vicky you and your staff have done a great job of getting all the parts together in one kit - haven't found anyone else doing that - the other vendors will probably follow your lead when they figure it out. Your pricing and service is also great.

I don't know how I've overlooked Cignot all of these years, but I've been making up time in the past two weeks. Thank you!

Yes, thank you Vicky! I purchased some eGrip related items on 12/31 at about 1:30 AM and got a notification that the were already enroute even before the new year! Happy New Year to you and everyone here! Btw I rebuilt my coil in the eGrip with my own 30 gauge kanthal wire and Rayon (cellulose cotton) without using what was supplied. 9 wraps on my trusty oversized paperclip tool and I use for my Reo minis and I was at 1.4 ohms. This is perfect for the eGrip and the taste is amazing!

Btw I PM'd you Vicky- did you get my message?

Rickajho, did your RBA base come today???

My tracking number STILL says "Pre-Shipment: electronic shipping info has been sent to the Post Office", which is starting to make me worry a little…nothing that has happened in my mail related life in the last month has made me have any confidence at all in the USPS and their ability to actually deliver the mail….

I KNOW…BUT IT'S HAAAARD!

I spent last night on the couch drinking theraflu and watching reviews. (Thanks, baby brother, for giving everyone the creeping crud for Christmas) I'm excited to play with my new toy, and the mail is thwarting me. :D

Yeah, but there has been something wonky about packages leaving IL on tracking. Mine showed no activity at all in tracking once it got to Forest Park, and all the activity updates seemed to "back fill"... after the package was delivered.

I've noticed different P.O.'s being slow occasionally, but it sure beats looking up the tracking numbers on the web all the time.
