Well, the eRoll kind of is a glorified starter kit.
About the only real difference between the eRoll and other cig-sized PVs is that it uses eGo atty heads with a proprietary body, connector, and tank.
Set an assembled eRoll next to an assembled Blu and at a passing glance I'd bet most people would mix the 2 up

Either way, if I knew someone absolutely wanted a cig-sized PV, I'd point them in the direction of the eRoll or a 510T

And better vapor production; charging without disassembling; nice PCC with a big battery; lightweight and small size; etc.. it's honestly not the same as its predecessors. It's the first one of this size that I've been happy to use exclusively.

I don't think the ability to just drop it in the PCC without dis-assembly should be downplayed. For anyone attracted to cig-a-likes, that was the one thing missing with all the others.

Of course, the quality of the atty matters. But, eGo-C atty didn't even have the greatest reputation before the eRoll came out. I do think it's a good atty. But, some others are just as good. For example, if a good quality 808 started using the same charging system, they would work just as well, and sell just as well.

The key is to combine a good quality atty (any good quality atty) with a cig-a-like size and the ability to just drop it in the charger without having to fiddle with it every time.

ETA: And, it's just plain cool looking, of course!

We can argue about this until the cows come home, but the eRoll, which has been praised by many very experienced reviewers, isn't like most cigarette lookalikes. It produces more vapor than the others and is very convenient since you can use it and then easily stick it in the PCC without breaking it down. The PCC stays charged for a long time. The whole package is sleek and stylish. The PV itself is very light and really feels like a cigarette. You can use your own juice. The cones and batteries are very inexpensive which means you can carry several of them with you and have one fully charged at all times.

I guess I don't understand the negativity. Even though I don't use certain hardware, I'm always glad to hear when it works well for other vapers. And I like when members share their experiences with new hardware so I can decide if I want to try it or not. No one here is saying the eRoll is the be all end all in vaping, but it is a useful tool for a lot of us and it's not because we are wide-eyed noobs who don't know better. It's not for everyone, but then again, what PV is?

Wow! How did that happen? You should be able to get a replacement. Joyetech products have a 180 day warranty.

Note sure how this happened - I just woke up that morning, went to charge a batt, and found it wouldn't charge. Looked closely and noticed I only had one pin :) Ive been relatively gentle to the PCC, haven't dropped it or anything. I always put the battery in with the end to charge first, too, so I wouldn't have thought I stressed the pin or anything.

I talked to the vendor I got it from, they offer a 30 day warranty, so are willing to replace it. Sending it to them today, hope to get a replacement PCC in a week or so.

The better vapor production can be attributed to the eGo atty head. I'll give you charging without disassembly, but eRoll isn't the first to have a PCC.
I'm not saying it isn't a vast improvement over previous cigalikes, mostly saying it's kind of a high-end starter kit
I can't speak for anyone else, but if I had to disassemble it charge it, I wouldn't use it.
That's how important that feature is to me.

No offence too anyone, but my honest opinion is the eroll is just glorfied starter kit.

Im not saying its a piece of junk and im not a eroll hater, just saying any device that holds 1/2 mlll too me is a like starter kit, thats all,i vap 5 mill /day,just wont work for me,im sure its a well built machine and all.

Who cares what it is. If its a glorified starter kit fine. I dont even understand what that means anyhow.

We are all on team quit smoking here in this thread. There is no need for anyone to come in here and tell us why the kit doesnt work for you. We already know it doesnt work for many many people. If we can help you find a device that will work for you please let us know. We want to help you find what it is you need. Tell us a little about what you expect in an ecig and Im sure we can help you find possibilities to look at.

1000% true for me. I have quite a bit of gear myself and some high end gear at that. I still use my eroll all day at work. I go out with the other folks and vape on short breaks. Being able to just pop it in and out so quickly is superb. Now only if it was a bit lighter in weight and Id like to be able to take a lighter draw it would be perfect. For me, juice capacity and battery life are both complete non issues with my application for this device. Not sure how you feel but if I remember we were kinda similar.

No!! Where did it start leaking from? I have 3 of them, only 1 right now but if that thing starts leaking into my laptop bag, well....not good.

Its leaking right near the bottom and sometimes on the body where you fill the juice... the sad part is I've only had it for 2 weeks D:

True, if I had to undo 510 threads all the time to recharge 5, 6, 7 times a day, I'd get fairly annoyed
Something like the eRoll where it's somewhere around a quarter turn wouldn't bug me as much tho, but I'm not gonna complain if I don't have to de-thread at all
