I was fortunate enough to run into a deal I could not refuse here on the ECF yesterday & long story short bought a New joyetech Evic kit in box never opened really really a steal of a price. Thing is I only had a tiny window of time yesterday to read up on the battery and its specs and what all it does. So im looking for some Owner experience and info. Tips, warnings, do's & dont's etc.. Thanks for your time! Kelly (super excited) Henning.

Awesome! Glad you got in on that deal as well. I couldn't pass it up.
Yes jejune we got ours on the same thread. I couldn't pass that price up either. I had been eyeballing it for a week or so but have now had a chance to watch some reviews and now I'm super excited!

Many Blessings for a safe & Happy New Year from the Smokefree Henning Household to Yours

Got mine as soon as they were available. Very happy with it. The puff counter is useless after a week or so, but interesting if you're a data junkie like me. Settings seem to be very accurate. Love the fact that it can be charged anywhere there is a micro USB charger and if there not everywhere for you, sorry on many levels(I'm an android fan, lol). Excited to be able to update firmware but disappointed by the hardware limitations, seems that the switch is only good up to 2.5 amps. However...we will be able to replace the head with better hardware for less than a whole new device, although not sure it will save more than $10-20 if/when it comes out. The body is plain, slippery and the same for everyone, BUT...the 18650 EGO bodies(tubes) work great, with just a small gap. There is even a 18350 tube available for a little short guy. All in all, I'm happy. Just like cell phones, we will have to wait and see what kind of support is available firmware wise to see if it is really worth the money.

I like my eVic well enough... I work with computers all day and charging's not an issue, so I threw the 18350 tube on it and it's a tiny little sucker.

However, I got it knowing it would be my bang-around take-everywhere vape. I don't expect much in the way of accuracy, and I fully expect it to break before long. It feels awfully flimsy compared to any of my other PVs, and with all that plastic I wouldn't expect it to survive a drop to the pavement.

I've found the software side of things to be buggy to the point of near-uselessness, but even when it works I can't say that there's much of anything valuable there anyway... so even though mine can go days at a time without being able to connect to the MVR software, having played with MVR for about 10 minutes when I got it, I don't feel like I'm really missing anything there. I just wish it would stop getting stuck "Uploading..." so that I could vape while it charges, which I can only do maybe half the time when it's plugged into a USB port.

It works OK. The voltage and wattage aren't accurate, but they're close enough for me. I've had trouble getting it to fire attys that other mods use without issue, but it's only been one or two of them. Again, I wasn't expecting top-of-the-line performance out of my eVic, so I'm willing to let that slide.

A game-changer? I hardly think so, personally. It strikes me as more of a novelty, and a somewhat cheaply-made one at that, as many novelties are. Still, until I manage to break it, it vapes nearly as well as other comparably-priced VV and/or VW mods, and vaping's all I really got it for anyway.

I like it, accuracy by voltage/wattage is not a huge concern as it seems consistent taste wise. So my 7.8 watts may be 7.5 watts (no clue, I don't meter it) but I can set it there and get a consistent taste.

No issues so far. I would dull out or bend down the sharp point on the battery spring if you are going to be charging out of device or changing batteries a lot, it marks up the bottom of batteries.

I've been quite pleased with mine. The low amp limit may be a turn off for some, but I rarely vape above about 8w anyway, so an 11w max is no concern of mine. The upgradeable firmware is just fascinating to me. v1.0 to v1.1 brought some pretty big and needed changes. v2.0 looks to be more of a clean-up, but it is supposed to fix a lot of the little things people have complained about. The sleep timer, showing ohms on the main screen, etc. It's my favorite mod on my desk right now, I'd have no problems recommending it to anyone.

I really appreciate everyone's input and I plan on putting it thru the paces as soon as I get this baby! I will also report back my experiences with it for prospective buyers as well. And a great piece of advice I can already give is to keep looking in the ECF classified section for new evic kits from co-op's that didn't end up with their intended owners. I seriously wouldn't have been able to afford it any other way. Thanks again Mok..

Anyone switch to the hybrid Panasonic battery?? If so any performance difference?

I've used mine with CGR18650CHs exclusively. Runs great until about 20% showing, then it runs cooler. 10,423 puffs at this point (avg 3s) (about 120mls of fluid) and no major complaints. I easily get a day out of it on the Panasonic hybrids. Only downside, the head won't be flush with the body if you have button tops (as I do).

Correct me if i'm wrong but I have an evic, which I love. I'm pretty sure the amp limit is not 2.5 amps because When you switch it to VV mode It actually allows you to go above 11 watts. I had a 1.5ohm carto on it and plugged it in and looked at my MVR software and saw that it was drawing 2.7 amps at I think 4.2 or 4.3 volts. Also I noticed that when I do use VV that the hit does get stronger on every increment I raise it all the way to 5V (with a 1.5ohm). I can't get it to hit like that in VW mode. All in all, I really like the evic, it was a toss up between that and a vision vv tube mod (looks identical to the VAMO).

I just ordered an evic today and I can't claim to be any sort of expert on these kinds of batteries as I've only ever used ego batteries but I know that most electronics with rechargeable batteries advise to avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures above 120 F. Whether this holds true for 18650s I don't know, but 98 F seems a bit lower than it really needs to be. Obviously it's better to be on the conservative side than risk a catastrophic failure but in most parts of the country the ambient temperature is going to go above this and it would render the device unusable outdoors. I can't imagine these batteries being terribly useful in any device PV or otherwise if they couldn't take more heat than that. That's just my best rational guesstimation though.
