Years ago when I worked in an office I had to go outside to smoke. Sometimes I would stick a cig in my mouth for a while before a trip outside. I remember being in the elevator once heading out and I absentmindedly fired one up, in the middle of a bunch of people. Maybe the Judge got into the habit of holding the vape in his mouth like a pacifier and inhaled without intending to.
I did the same thing in a grocery store. You would have thought I was a mad bomber the way people reacted.

Not saying it's right - but so many liberties have been taken away. You know my coffee always has a mighty steam coming off of it when I take a sip......

And soon that coffee will come with a warning that it may cause cancer (in California). Judges are endowed with the mantle of infallibility.

Although you are all my peers, there's several of you I don't want on my jury.

He should have said something along the lines of:

Yes, I have been using my personal vaporizer inappropriately. There have been studies which show a very minimal amount of (insert the clear stream study data here) that can be absorbed second hand. I apologize for any negative consequences this may have had to those in my presence and to millions if not billions of people who have experienced positive results in their efforts to quit smoking by using electronic cigarettes.

He could go on to address just how severe the problem of addiction itself is. Go to any Waffle House, Denny's, or IHOP and you will find someone on methamphetamine who is serving you food. Addiction, no matter the substance, is killing people in more ways than one all over the world and the innovations that have been made in the electronic cigarette industry are invaluable. I am embarrassed by my behavior. I have struggled with an addiction to nicotine for (x amount of years). Addiction to certain substances is a force that is more powerful than the bond between a parent and a child. I have not behaved this way because I think I am above the law. I have behaved this way in an effort to treat my addiction.

It makes me angry that even when we have someone like him who vapes he wont even stand up for himself or any of us. He has to know something about what has transpired legally regarding e-cigarettes. He didn't do anything for me or you or anyone else because he has the ability to read and remember things and that alone earned him a law degree and he can hide behind his title and not be charged. To hell with this spineless piece of trash.

Oh, IDK. "Hang" a jury? LOL, yes, at least in the Judge's case.

I'm afraid I'm also one of those types that really won't "go along" with the crowd, even if I'm stuck in there for HOURS about that judge. I wouldn't even NEED to stealth vape, I'd be sucking on a nicotine pouch and saying, "Nope, nope, nope."

One of the reasons I still need to go register my "citizenship" with the DMV. I really don't want a jury summons and nor does any judge want me to have one. With that said, I have several "things" on board that would get me "struck" immediately by one side or the other.... A crazy ex social worker (bleeding heart) also gun owner, plus wanting school personnel to be ARMED, etc., plus the "do you have strong feelings about X". Whatever "X" is going to be, I have a feeling I will have an "opinion." LOL. I will never serve on a jury but I bet it's interesting.

I did become the equivalent of a lawyer, an "advocate" cuz I worked at the Prosecutor's office at the tribe I worked at.... I had a take home test, more or less designed to prove I read the "Constitution" only it was so backwards and hastily cobbled together and amended, you could really answer anything, because it contradicted itself on multiple occasions. The only clear thing I came away with was "huh... the elderly and property are WAY more important to this tribe than kiddos." And no, never defended anyone.:lol: Thank God.

Or the new non-apology "apology", "I am sorry that you were offended".

It's really funny watching the beginning of the end of an empire, in all its decadence and glory, judges mocking the law while at the same time they put people in cages for violating it. We are so fricking free we can whistle zippa dee doo dah out of of our ... holes while watching the whole thing burn to the ground :lol::lol:

The guy is a giant dingus, its no different than the ...... I've seen blowing clouds in movie theaters & restaurants, or the kids doing it in crowded streets in the city next to babies in strollers.

Believe it or not there are people who don't want to be breathing second hand clouds, we already know there's carcinogens/aldehydes above certain temps (which, it's only something like 5% of us is using temp control), leeching metals, etc & more testing needs to be done to ascertain the safety of it. Which, if we're honest with ourselves, we had at least an inkling all these years. In some ways it's more physically obtrusive bc of the size & stickiness. At least smokers have the decency to do it outdoors & away from other people.
