I get it!!! You just might have had a road flare ready to go off in your face.

I think it all stems from watching Too Many Cartoons as a Kid where the Roadrunner Gives the Coyote a Cigar with a Stick of TNT in it.

;)

What do you mean? Did I wander into the kr808 forum again? That was as much fun as being the only straight guy in a gay bar.

LMAO

:D

I suck out the juice with my mouth and dry with tissue. I have saved a few batts this way makes my mouth sore but it works.

I have done this and it works best if you catch the leak right away ... I immediately remove the carto and turn the batt upside down for about 30 secs, and then I wipe with a paper towel and then suck on the connective end.

Tried this twice, it worked both times and there was no change in the batteries performance, but again I believe that timing is everything.

the end cap?

sorry, I missed the question. Too caught up in keysbum calling auto users gay. (Ha! see what I did there? Fuel to the fire, baby!!!!!)

I meant the cap on the part that lights up. You can pry it off. maybe it will let some air flow through it if it's not a day too late now.

I'm sure there are folks who have used auto batteries for years with flawless service, but we hear about the problems and not the good auto batteries. I'm just so used to the manual switch that I'd be constantly trying to press a button if I tried an auto. It's just second nature. I don't think about the button. My thumb is autonomically trained.

That's what happened with my echo. Very hard to get used to not having a button to push. Now I wouldn't trade it for anything. It works in reverse too. Sat for a moment staring at my manual the other day before I realized it. It's funny what our habits do to conscious thought.

I had the same thing happen to me a Long Time ago with a Rev"2" CE2.

I tried all the things listed here and nothing worked. I was going to chuck it when I thought, "You Can't Break the Broken."

So I submerged the battery in 98% Isopropyl Alcohol and shook it 10 of 15 times. Blew it out and put it on the top of my Stero Reciever to dry for a couple of days.

When I remembered it, about a week later, I dialed 9-1 on my cell phone and then put my finger over the 1 as I took a hit. It worked fine. In fact, it outlasted another 510 Auto I had.

I'd ONLY recommend doing this if you are going to Chuck the Battery in the Trash Anyway.

You know what zoiDman? You inspired me. I dug out the only auto I've ever killed. It still took a charge but there was no airflow going through. Exactly like sucking on a solid stick. So I popped off the tip cap and poured devils springs vodka (80%-highest we can get in NY) into it and let the thread end sit in the overflow. 20 minutes later I noticed it was firing off!

So I got my cartomizer flushing kit and started flushing vodka through it. A couple of pulls and the thing just spewed vodka out the threads on the third push. So I refilled it with vodka and put it in a metal cup. Occasionally I would see it lighting up and the cutoff blinking. Finally I blew it out, wiped out the metal cup and let it dry over night. After some rigorous thread cleaning with a toothbrush and some alcohol....the damn thing works again!!!!!!! I'm just in shock.

Never Underestimate the Power of Booze.

In the words of the Immortal Homer Simpson, “Alcohol. The Cause and The Solution to Most of Life’s Problems.”

Glad to hear you were able to Resurrect those Autos that were just Collecting Dust in the Drawer.

And with No Road Flare Effect to Boot.
