So true. I don't have all the sophisticated hardware and won't be able to vape at all the different watts and ohms etc., but am hoping that with the equipmet I DO have, I'll enjoy the new juices I'll be trying, based on Chefjosh's descriptive analogies of them.

That's a spectacular little collection you've got there. I've been seriously debating the ZAP when Provape gets their shipment, but budget wise, it's going to be tough to justify. Are you using a kick in the iHybrid?

Nope, just an 18350 battery. ZAP/Povari is a picky combination, honestly. It's FANTASTIC when it's set up right, the littlest thing will knock it outta whack. I need to rewrap my coil, I did something to mine. Don't let that stop you though, if you're willing to tinker it's great. The stand alone Zenesi are the easiest rebuildables to use I think, they come already set up and are very forgiving. The iHybrid is just as good, I think, but it doesn't come set up and dosn't have an insulator for the wick so it takes more effort to get it working right the first time. Once it's set up it's very comparable to a Zenesis stand alone.

As for steeping... my favorite juicateer (Pharmboy) pre mixes his flavors and lets the steep before they're ordered so his stuff never needs to be steeped. So don't automatically think someone's juice is somehow less if it doesn't need steeping, some of them are just awesome and do it for us.

Maybe you can get some masking tape on the bottle to label the date that you received it, then in your review, you can say "This one steeped for X days before I tried it." If you get a bunch of comments saying "OMMG YOU SHOULD OF LET IT STEEP FOR 2X DAYS!" you can come back to it later (time permitting) and add it to the review.

While I certainly understand what you're saying mattbot, that wouldn't really solve the issue that we're talking about here. Much of the juice steeps for 2 weeks minimum before I get around to trying it, simply due to my workload. I certainly don't have the number of attys or the time to clean my attysas often as would be required in order to sample every juice straight out of the mailbox. So simply saying "I let this one steep for 3 weeks" is unimportant and misleading if it would have been just fine on the day I received it.

Great thread, and great website Chefjosh! I've read the reviews on your site from A to Z and will be adding several juices to my next orders because of your insightful descriptions. I haven't made it to the end of this thread yet, and might be skipping around, LOL, but in the meantime,

Have you been letting all the juices steep for any length of time, or doing your reviews right out of the mailbox?

Hey searching4answers...it's been covered here, but the thread has gotten a bit long so I'm happy to run thru it again for you.

If I get a juice that looks like it needs steeping (i.e. Tobaccos, complex blended flavors, darker juices, etc) I always let 'em go for 2-3 weeks. Simple fruit flavors I have done before with less than a week of steeping, but if flavors seem off in any way, they go back in the bin for a week or more. At this point, I have 100+ bottles waiting for review so most juice steeps for 2 weeks at least, usually longer, before I have a chance to start tasting.

You certainly don't need all the bells and whistles to get a good vape, altho I won't lie, it does make things a bit easier when it comes to finding the sweet spot. As long as you have a decent 3.7v battery like an eGo and a few different attys of varying resistance, you should be good to go. Altho at $23 or so, the twist is quite the VV bargain as it the new VV kgo coming in around $26.

Yeah, I've heard really good things about the eGo twists. A ZAP looks mighty odd on it though. If I could find a rebiuldable genisis style atty that would fit on on eGo it would be awesome. I got a few of them laying around getting very little use.

I'm learning to love tinkering, but finding the time has been hard lately. When I do figure out exactly what I want, and find the $$ in the vape budget, I'll have to devote a weekend to learning it inside and out. Thanks for the info, Fisty and Elfstone, It's great appreciated.

I never take steeping into account when I think about the overall quality of a juice. Just because it needs to steep doesn't make it any better than one that's tasty right out of the mailbox. I'm glad you brought it up though, it's certainly a common misconception. I'll have to add pharmboy to the list...I hear lots of great things.

They are fun...I picked one up on a whim when I found a local B&M store in my town. Here in FL, this part of the state anyways, there aren't a whole lot of vapers so finding a B&M store was a little exciting. Anyhow, I wandered in just to chat with the owner and he seemed like a decent guy (despite asking $20 for a vivi) so I wanted to give him a little business...hence I own a twist (shocking, only $6 more than the $20 vivi!). It's okay, but it feels so light compared to the provari, almost like a toy, which has it's pros and cons, I suppose. It's a great little battery for someone who's never used VV and wants to get their feet wet, but I suspect you'd find it more than a little flimsy feeling coming off a iHybrid and Zen.

Well I have 3 eGo pass-throughs with clearos that I take out when I'm worried about hurting my good ones.. they're nice it their own way, I wonder if I could put a steal wick in a clearo tank.. Murdock put one in a vivi successfully.

Thanks for the tip...contacted Gary about some Pharmboy samples, no response yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Quick updates on the other requests. Gandalf and one other flavor that I can't remember from HHV is sitting in the PO Box as we speak, just haven't had a chance to pick it up yet. No additional info from Murdock, but my understanding is that Pluid is on the way as well. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on that front.

Newsletter ran into a hurdle, but is being worked out as well.
