Yeah the mint I get is different than any I've previously had in an ejuice. It's not menthol, it's just straight up fresh mint, and there's only a very slight hint of it. I think the citrus you mentioned is the sweet tart flavor I get...maybe a touch of grapefruit? I wish I had time to vape thru 100ml of it until I nailed it.

so..I've been assured that it's not grapefruit. I hereby officially give up all attempts at identifying flavors and will leave it to the professionals. I'll stick by the tried and true "i really like it, and think you will too"

Yeah, I'm not surprised it's not grapefruit. I probably would've picked that up. The fact of the matter is with some juice, it's simply not possible to break down the profile into individual components, and I think that speaks volumes about the vendor. It's not always a good thing, like when it all just comes together into a generic fruit flavor, but when it creates a whole new singular flavor that hits all the right notes, it's just magic. At some point you just have to decide it's better not to try to figure out how the magician does his tricks and just enjoy them for what they are.

Great idea and good, concise yet informative reviews. Really cool you get to use your professional background in a new way. I wish we had something similar for UK juices...

Yeah, I made an effort to get my hands on some UK juice and a company who, for now at least, shall remain nameless was happy to ship some juice over to me. The ones I've tried so far have not been very good so I've been giving them some additional steeping time in hopes that they improve. I know this vendor has a fairly good reputation so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait a bit before reaching any conclusions.

Vap3r3r, do you find any noticeable differences in general flavor profiles between the US juice that's available in the UK, and UK made juice?

For those who requested The Vapor Room, as of just a couple minutes ago, there are two from TVR posted to the website (one is linked from the home page, the other can be easily navigated to via the "A to Z" page). The next set of updates should include HHV's Serendipity...the Gandalf is very close to fully steeped so that will be included in the next round of Tobacco reviews that I plan to begin early next week. Current review count stands at 98...#100 is so close I can taste it.

I am pretty new to vaping so I guess I need to order a few homeland flavors this week to check them out. I will let you know. Honestly, I have found the juice I get from various providers here pretty hit or miss when it comes to consistency regarding flavor intensity, viscosity, color, etc. Also, holler if the steeping does help so I can do the same.

Steeping will always help, at least a little, and sometimes it turns foul tasting juice into heaven's nectar. It's just a simple fact that most juice gets better as it matures. It's also a good idea to take the lids of the bottle every day or two to let some air in. Although the exact chemical processes are a bit beyond me, I have learned that giving the juice an opportunity to breathe a bit while steeping, does help to speed up the process.

What UK vendors have you tried Vap3r3r? What ones do you recommend...I'm thinking about getting in touch with a couple more, so any recommendations, regardless of how new to vaping you are, would be helpful.

yeah, so I looked into this steeping thing a bit deeper, and who knew? I have a bunch of juices that I thought were a complete loss as they did not taste exactly how I had envisioned, but now they at least have a fighting chance. Though I am not sure how long to steep them for. I guess I will just have to do periodic taste tests.

And also, after reading more of your reviews I am already ready to retire my one month old ego for a serious variable voltage piece; oh my poor wallet. But it seems as though e juice is similar to coffee, beer, etc in that you perceive different flavors at different temperatures in the latter.

Over here I have ordered from House of Liquid, Puffin e liquid, Freedomvape, and Totally Wicked thus far. I hesitate to recommend and will forego a proper review as I need to see exactly how this steeping fares, but HoL El Toro cigarillos naturales has been my favorite tobacco flavor - unsteeped the flavor reminds me of a swisher sweet, but with proper cuban tobacco - , and TW buttermint. Many UK vapers have been raving about the products from Paradise Vape and Vape Escape as well, which will be my next orders.

So many flavors so little time, it seems...

Yeah Vap3r3r, I can completely sympathize with you wanting to ditch the fixed voltage eGo in favor of a VV device. Until I got my first LavaTube, I had no idea of the power potential. Since then I've upgraded, more than a few times, until I ended up with the Provari and some very nice back-up PVs.

Fisty mentioned the new iTaste MVP...very cool little device and $30 sounds like a steal on that, I may have to grab one of those myself. The twist that HawkeyeFLA mentioned is also a great little VV PV, and an excellent introduction to the world of variable voltage. My only complaint (and it's fairly minor) with both of those devices is the lack of an Ω check function. It's not really a necessity...more of a convenience, but I use mine incessantly. That being said both are excellent devices for your first VV PV.

If you want to spend a few more bucks and get the additional resistance check functionality, I'd take a look at the new Rider Robust...only a few places have it right now (that link goes to the blue one), but it's the same price everywhere I've seen it, $50, no batteries or charger are included.
