Hey, Josh, I know you're swamped, but any ETA on the newsletter? It would be cool to have a weekly/monthly recap of the juices you've tried!

Thanks for asking Frequentj...Been working super hard on so many things, but the newsletter is very close to launching with what will be the first of many issues and lots of juice giveaways. If you haven't signed up yet, the sign-up form is located on the right-hand sidebar under the heading "Get On the Bus".

I'm also very close to completing work on the "Buy it Now!" button. That will be a link directly from the review to the vendors page for purchasing each juice reviewed. Since this will be an opt-in program for the vendors, only those vendors who have decided to participate will have that link after their reviews.

As always, questions, comments, or general feedback is always welcome here in the thread, or via email using the "All Other Inquiries" link on the sidebar.

edit: grammar

The buy it now button is a great idea. I can't imagine a vendor passing up that opportunity (as long as the cost of opting in isn't too high)

That's been one of the sticking points and why it's taking so long to introduce...Since I'm sort of breaking new ground here, there's no guideline as to what this has the potential to generate per review. I'm looking into a trial run with a vendor or 2 in order to see just how much cash it's bringing in for them and then create the pricing from there. I want it to be fair for everyone, but some vendors have 2 reviews and some have 10. I'm currently working on a pricing scale where it's $x for 1-3 buttons, $y for 4-6 buttons, etc, but it's all guesstimations until we put the plan into action and look at the numbers.

So, Faithful Readers, what would you find more useful/practical...the Buy it now button, or the newsletter. They are both coming shortly, but I've been splitting my time between the two of them, in addition to writing new reviews for posting, and I'd be interested to know which you'd prefer to see first.

I can't remember if this has been suggested, but it would be great to include a how long you steeped before trying a given juice.
I would put it right under the "headline" that names the juice and notes the PG/VG ratio.

I bought some Vape Dudes banana tobacco based on your review...
And of course picked up a couple of other samples (Blue Honey and Buttery Nipple) while I was there.
:)

At first the Banana Tobacco was tasting too much like banana candy.
But now that I've let it steep for a couple of weeks, I'm starting to find the tobacco in there.

The buy it now button would probably give the site a "slicker" feel.

Very good idea. I've seen a few juice suppliers that are starting to recommend steeping times. I really like that.

Hey Josh, when you get that Gandalf, it's one of those "really needs a good steeping" juices. 2-3 weeks is not out of line.

Duly noted...After all the hype, I know I'm going to want to dive right in, but I suppose I have more than enough juice waiting to keep me occupied.

In theory noting the steeping time is a spectacular idea...one I wish I could make happen, but in practice, I don't think it's really possible. The problems I foresee here is that I simply can't taste everything straight out of the mailbox, which would be important step for any juice that requires no addt'l steeping. Some days I receive 15+ bottles. Secondly, I already clean or toss my atty after every review, depending on it's condition, so simply tasting a drop or two at intervals would mean another cleaning at every tasting point in order to get the true flavor. As it stands, every bottle that comes in has at least a week to steep, simply due to the workload. Any juice that I suspect will take longer, I just don't touch for 2 weeks or more.

Knowing these circumstances, if anyone has ideas on how to note the steeping times without increasing my workload even further, I'm open to suggestions. I think it's crucial information, but I can't figure out a way to make it work without making this even more complicated than it's already become. If I think a juice requires extended steeping, I do make an effort to say so in the text of a review.

BTW, just posted 3 fresh reviews moments ago.

interesting .... will try out the 'steeping'

Not all juices need steeping, although I've never seen any it actually hurts, and some that do need more than others. Complex juices (more than just one or two flavors) and tobacco juices, particularly extracted tobaccos, tend to need more steep time.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid you're right. 28 hour days and painstaking, meticulous note taking are about the only suggestions I could make. And "painstaking and meticulous" don't sound like much fun. :)

If you run across suppliers that make an attempt at steeping suggestions (there are a few), you could probably pretty easily add those.
