Thanks Startle! I'm glad you enjoy the reviews and find them helpful.

I play a little bit of everything, but my instrument of choice is acoustic guitar. I like to play Dead, Phish, Allman Bros, and the like, as well as some newer jambands like Big Wu, moe., raq, and some other things that have no business being played on an acoustic guitar, but since the website was launched, my guitar has been very, very lonely.

Thanks for the info!

Being a musician myself as well as having a crazy work schedule and other commitments that require attention I can definitely relate to the loneliness your guitar is experiencing. The chops always come back quickly though once you have the time to pick it back up here and there.

Keep up the great work and hopefully we'll get to hear some recordings once the vape settles. Based on your styles it sounds like something I'd definitely want to listen to whilst having a good vape. We can only do so much in the time we are allotted and seems you are well organized in doing so.

Vape On!

Hey, chefjosh!

About the cough drops, what I meant was I found it funny that I was one of the ones you mentioned, whose "thing" are cough drops :)

Anyhow, I get it - some vendors don't think they need the publicity, and I can understand that. I'd love to see more juices there, though, because your take seems to be the closest this can ever get to an objective flavor appraisal, regardless of individual tastes and preferences... They probably should hire you for descriptions, rather than "reviews"; the descriptions on vendor sites are notoriously obscure or downright misleading, and I don't think it's for lack of trying, just for regular people it is very hard to translate flavors into words.

Anyway, I don't know what I consider "mainstream", lol. You got me! Let's say, what I used in the past... (for some* of them you have at least one juice) NLV, Vape-A-Licious, KBV, Rawr*, Pink Spot*, Highbrow vapor, Alien visions, Backwoods Brew, The Vapor Room, Virgin Vapor*, Ms. Ts, E-Pipe Mods, Blue Mist (meh)...

Truth be told, I don't know some of the newer ones because I stopped buying pre-made a while ago...

Yeah...that review had a bit to do with how I handled all reviews thereafter, like I said, it helped me to find my voice. In my first draft, I pretty much trashed it because of how much I disliked it. While it was always my goal to keep the reviews factual and keep my personal tastes out of the picture, that was the moment I truly understood what that really meant, and how hard that was going to be.

That would be a nice little gig for me...freelance online e-liquid flavor description provider. Would need a pretty large business card :p

I have some of the vendors you mentioned lined-up and most of the others have received emails. I managed to get my hands on some BH from NLV, but since I paid for it, it has to wait until I get thru some more of the submissions. It only improves with age anyhow! Both Vape-A-Licious and e-pipe have never been contacted so I'm adding them to my list for Monday AM e-mails. AVE is in the works, as someone here in forum made a donation with my paypal button. Just waiting to get boba's and gorilla juice in one swoop so I don't have to pay twice for shipping. It's been difficult to get both at the same time since AVE moved. KBV, BWB, and highbrow were all emailed a while back, but did not respond. I'll try them all again Monday as well. From what I understand, Blue Mist really shines at flavor concentrates so I haven't made any real effort with them since I have so much on my plate already, but perhaps I'll reconsider and shoot them an email on Monday too.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how many DIYers read the reviews and tell me it helps them to try out new flavor combinations. Glad to hear you're one of them!

This is a very interesting time to be a vaper and a reviewer...new vendors popping up left and right. Some of them send over their entire collections for review. Some are spectacular, some should have been a little less eager and spent a little more time perfecting their recipes.

Thanks again for your thoughts and contributions to the thread elfstone...I really appreciate it.

Add Juicy Vapor to your email list.. Address it to Brad and tell him Emma from Rochester sent you. =) Ecto Plasm is their most popular flavor, my favorite from them is Dragon's blood.

Hey Fisty...Yeah, I have some JV posted like elfstone mentioned, but not the Ecto yet. I am anxious to get my hands on that one, and I have emailed Brad a couple times since then, but the emails went unanswered. I'm not sure they'll be so keen to send me more samples, anyhow. While 2 of their flavors did exceptionally well, the other 3 only performed so-so. I will be sure to send them another email on Monday, but only time will tell how effective it will be.

In addition to two others, the Radiator Pluid review has just been posted. This brings the total review count up to 76.

Now that my thoughts are out there, I'm curious to hear from the folks who have tried Pluid as to what you tasted and how our thoughts compare. As you can imagine, it was not a particularly easy review to write.

Great review! :)

As I said, you either love it or hate it... And that's exactly what I said - tangerine! Or a mix of citrus zest. I actually told MR that it reminded me of the cookies my grandma used to make. And now that you actually said "citrus zest", I remember she would grind zests of orange, lemons, mandarins, and grapefruit, mix them with sugar (I think) and keep them in a jar for a long time to macerate (I guess), then she'd use that in the dough of a variety of pastries. And that's the first image I had on my first mouthful of Pluid. And... that's gotta be it. Although there were other flavors in my grandma's pastries as well, so you never know what exactly triggered that intense, Proustian memory.

I would love to vape just that, without the Anise, not that I don't like the Pluid as is, but I bet I'd love the "undertone only" liquid. He had made it before, he says, but not anymore :(

Many people have asked about menthol in the Pluid. I never thought menthol, and MR swears there is no menthol or mint or anything similar in there. I believe - though I might be wrong - that the mentholated Pluid is called Annapreeze? Fisty, am I correct? I vape Pluid with menthol of my own addition a lot of times. It works really well...

People, myself included, have been mixing the Pluid with other stuff. The Pluid holds flavor at increasing dilutions (Murdock may have nailed the homeopathic principle) so just a little Pluid in a target juice goes a long way...

:)

Might should have a note about the food coloring in Pluid. Some people won't like that.

Yeah...I debated it and finally opted to go with the radioactive comment figuring folks would deduce from there. You think it's still necessary? Anyone else wanna ring in here? I'm still undecided and my opinion can be easily swayed on this matter.
