Juice tasting at B&M

I seem to keep throwing my money away whenever I buy juice at a B&M. Seems the standard practice for tasting stations at most B&Ms is an ego battery and a cheap clearomizer, which I understand for cost and efficiency purposes. The problem is I'll try different juices, find 1 or 2 I liked. After I get home I'll load my KFL+ and the taste is completely different from what I thought at the store and it eventually joins my growing pile of disappointing juices. I realize that kayfuns bring out the flavor a lot more but sometimes the clearomizers at the store don't even give a good vape.

I'm just getting started with an igo-w I bought and I know some stores will let you drip juices directly from the bottle. My question is how do you keep dripping different juices without each juice affecting the one before? I usually use cotton but rewicking between each juice seems pretty tedious. Should I use silica instead since it can be dry burned between juices? How do you go about tasting at B&Ms?

I imagine a dripper with the mesh instead of cotton would be easier to clean between flavors at the shop. My shop uses ego twist 1100mah for tasting but does use the ce4 throw aways which don't get me wrong it vapes pretty good new...
I have had this problem also in the past... I think the biggest factor besides hardware is age of tester juice and tje juice on the shelf... sometimes it's hit or miss.
I have a flavor that my old shop mixed them self loved it first two weeks then it turned couldn't vape it anymore tasted awful so I threw it out now I buy smaller bottles lol. Try sitting them in dark for a few days to steep and see if it helps.. also if the flavor is to bold try letting it breath for only a few hours in the dark..

eastwest, my B&M typically mixes its sample juices at 50/50 0nic. What ratio/nic level are you buying? The other thing to consider is that those sample juices were made ahead of time (possibly days) and if a juice you buy needs steeping, it may take a few days to develop the flavor you tasted at the bar.

Have you gone back and re-evaluated your "disappointing" juices? Maybe they needed some settling time? I had a couple like that from my B&M - sample tasted great, but my first couple hits left NOTHING to be desired. After a couple (three/four) weeks, the flavors have smoothed out, and I've come to enjoy a couple of those sketchy ones.

A belated welcome to the forums :)

You could take 3 or 4 RDAs with you and mount each one on your mod/mech to test out each variety of e-juice without suffering a comingling of the different flavors within a single wick/coil. That is, if you have enough RDAs to do it that way.

And welcome to ECF! :)

Now that I have a good bit of juice just about everything sits for weeks before I use it. Of course as soon as I get it I give it a try but then it hits the box and sits there. As for my b & m they use carts but still don't know how long it has been steeping. I have one that I just love. It is 0 nic and no matter how long it steeps does not change color or do a thing. Once I put it in a taifun and it heats up some it turns a nice pink color and then it is awesome and I vape it down quick. Lol

Oftentimes if you drip, and the store has samples, it might be OK to ask if you can drip straight from the sample bottle. It doesn't take much and you'll get a truer representation of flavor when it comes to your Kayfun.

I understand, though. It's a weird process, trying to figure out which flavor will taste good in what tank.

Thanks for the suggestions and welcomes! No I haven't gone back to the store to try the juices I bought but that's a good idea. Also once I get a good build going on my igo-w I plan to go through all of my juices again. Been practicing with different coils to see which one I like. The whole time they've been steeping hopefully makes them better when I get around to each again.

The last few juices I bought seem to be set pg/vg ratios. Some are at 12mg nic and others are at 6mg since I've been trying to lower my nic. They were Freakshow - Bed of Nails, Ben Johnson's Awesome Sauce - Cr3am, Suicide Bunny - Madrina, and Midas - RY4. The juice I've been vaping on the past month is Suicide Bunny - Mother's Milk which is what led me to Madrina. Madrina does taste good but the problem with it is it leaves a lingering aftertaste in my throat. I don't get that with Mother's Milk. Cr3am is an Oreo flavor and I really loved it in the store. But after vaping it for a whole day it had a dry taste. It wasn't a dry hit issue. But like the taste of only the cookie without the white filling. I swear I got that creamy filling taste in the store. Maybe a steeping issue? The funny thing is I bought Mother's Milk online without tasting it beforehand based on recommendations in other threads and that's the one I like the most right now.

I ran into that same problem, the juices that tasted good in their eGo Clearos tasted very different in my RBA at .7 ohm and I realized it was pointless to buy juice that way, I wasn't going to get a juice from a B&M that was any good for what I was vaping it in, so I started making my own. This has saved me a LOT of money and frustration.

They sell a "juice eraser" at most places that sell e-juice. I've never tried it myself, just saying...

I ALWAYS have this problem, but I think it's just me ? I taste something and like it, buy a bottle get home try it after about 5 minutes can't stand it, put it up and go back about every week. I don't think it's going to change now....it's been about 2 months for some, LoL

Once you get a set of flavor profiles you really enjoy nailed down, it becomes somewhat easier. Fruits, sweet, spicy, bakery, creamy, coffee, etc. It is a good idea to bring a dripper along. I have found that if you don't load it down, the new flavor will come through rather quickly, and it's a lot closer to your Kayfun than the cheapo clearos they use for sampling. I have also found that if a juice doesn't taste right with the B&M's set up, it will not be any better at home. Same is true the other way; if it tastes good at the shop, it will probably be even better in your Kayfun.

I have found DIY to be the way to go, what with proposed regulation and taxes on the horizon. That $5 bottle of juice is soon to become $10, and I can make 10ml of better juice for under 50 cents. I would highly recommend DIY to anyone.

I prefer a Kayfun myself. Luckily, I've developed a good relationship with my main local shop. The guys will let me try any flavor on an RDA. They carry over 200 juices, with no house brand. A lot of mid tier to premium brands. They fill their tester clearos and keep those open bottles behind the shelves for refilling. They have no issue giving me a couple of wick-fulls to try out and get an honest flavor from. Great shop.
