It was 3:30 a sleepy rainy Tuesday night, all was quiet. Only the sounds of snoring doggie and a kitty playing in the other room could be heard. While I was fast asleep there was loud BANG, then sounds of something dragging along the street outside. I woke up, the doggie started barking and the kitty went and hid. I looked out the window to see a van parked in front of my house, and my mailbox some 10 feet across the road. In my sleep haze and force of habit I grabbed my new stealth camo green PV and ran out the front door. After picking up the parts of the mailbox and yelling at the new neighbor who seems not to know how to drive, I get the kitty out of hiding and put the doggie back to bed.
The alarm goes off at 5am, I get ready for the day but I can't find my stealth PV, looked all around for it but to no avail.
So now I've lost my new battery, which may be outside in the grass(shouldn't be to hard to find a camo green PV in my bright green grass, right). And I have no mailbox for the mailman to deliver my order that was suppose to be here today.
So I'm not having a very good day today :(. BTW this is the 2nd time my mailbox has been hit in the last 2 months and it's one of the HD bronze type in 3ft of concrete, knew I should have the the old $12 one up (it was there for 12 yrs and never hit).
Sorry had to vent his story out.

Yah, I know how it feels Ambrossia. We've had our mailbox hit a few times over the past several years. I finally bought a backup and put it in the garage so that I could replace it before the mailman came. Of course our box has never been hit since. As far as your battery is concerned, do you think retracing your steps with a rake might help?
