nice poll DC2 it looks like most ppl are like me and quit on the first day or in the first week any way. thats whats surprises me with the 5 ppl that tried mine and bought one and barely use it, well my brother in law has only had his a week and is already down to 2 or 3 smokes a day i think he will be a straight vaper soon but the others i think are afraid to buy juice or something i have offered them all to come over and try any juice i have..and i got a good stash going on here. i guess all i can do is offer to help and if they want it they will go for it.

Ok i smoked 1.5 packs a day for 23 years and just up and quit after 1.5 days of vapin.and the .5 day i only had 1/2 a smoke cus it was nasty.and haven't looked back in over 2 month now. and can honestly say I'm never going back to them nasty skinkin things. now i have gotten 5 friends or family members to buy a e-cig and none of them seems to be able to quit the smokes completely. I just find it weird that after you try e-cigs that you would want to smoke them nasties again.

Marlboro Reds: 2P/Day for 37 years
Quit them after vaping 3 weeks
4 months no cigarettes

You might find it "weird", but they have a way of holding onto a portion of the brain. 3 months w/o much of an urge to smoke, but the past couple of weeks have been difficult. I haven't smoked, but I sure wanted to. I'm a lot more careful about using words like "never again" and "in the past". I know there is a possibility I could light one up

Day one of PV 4 cigs, day two 3 cigs, 3rd day 1/2 cig 2 different times and I couldn't finish it.

I smoked 2 PAD for 27 years and have been off then for 8 months. I recently went in excess of 3 months without so much the thought of one. The past week I had 2 urges out of no where that I wanted a darn ciggy! They were both short lived and I just vaped but it was weird.

That may have some to do with cutting down from 24MG to 12MG one day just to see how I'd feel. I also vape quite a bit of zero nic while developing new flavors. If it happens much more I'll just go up to 18MG for a while and see. It was never the nic in cigs that concerned me, if it takes years to get off of it so be it. boB

So awesome reading everyone's stories. Congrats to all of us!!!

I smoked from 1 to 2 packs a day for almost 35 years. Sept. 14th, 2010 I got my Joye eGo. Was smoking a pack a day. Between then and Oct. 10th, I smoked 4 1/2 packs--mostly due to frustration here and there getting used to my eGo and wanting my morning cig with my coffee. But on Oct. 10th I quit analogs completely and have zero desire to smoke a cig and very much doubt I'll light up another cancer stick.

I don't care if I ever quit vaping. And if I get down to a lower nic level (I enjoy 24 mg), so be it. :)

I smoked a pack of Marlboro Red 100s per day for roughly 28 years. Kept smoking 4-5 a day for the first week or two while vaping, then realized the obvious (that vaping was just plain better) and stopped smoking completely for several months. Started buying packs again when I was on vacation around April of this year and I've continued to buy occasional packs since then, but these days a pack lasts me three or four weeks. When I do have a cigarette, it's mostly a nostalgia thing and I don't beat myself up for "falling off the wagon", because it wouldn't significantly bother me never to smoke again.

I smoked 1 to 1 1/2 PAD for 30 yrs, since I was 14. I still keep a pack at my house.... just because I don't want to feel like I can't have one if I choose to. Once or twice a week while my kids are at school and hubby at work I go outside and take maybe two or three drags - which is enough to remind me I rather vape inside. My family thinks I haven't had one since last Feb though, I don't tell them that, they just assume because thats the last time they saw me smoke or smelled it on me. I don't know how long I keep doing this, I've went 3 weeks without one drag and was perfectly fine. One day I'll pull out that last cig in the pack and just not buy another pack.

I tested my Ecig for 2 days while still smoking analogs. On the 3rd day, I started using my Ecig heavily and upped the nicotine and it worked like a miracle- no urge at ALL for a real cig. I wasn't using the Ecig enough the first 2 days to satisfy my need. Once I did, the urge to cheat went away. And there's cigs in my house because my DH smokes!

I was a 30 yr smoker and I've been free since 10-10-10. The trick for me was to use it non-stop the first few weeks. I vape @ 6 times more than I smoked but I I'll deal with that excess in the future.
