I just sent the question to the seller on the amp meter function, btw, I re read his response to my first "do the meters blink" question, and he did explain that the v meter is a 3 wire configuration (confirming your observations) so maybe he's just not familiar with the blinky blink 2 wire meters we use (why do we use those btw??? so annoying)

Cheap and I knew them from my RC hobby, but I agree annoying. I have used 1S-2S up to now but haven't tried the two wire or three wire. Do these two wire blink?

I think any 2 wire v meter is going to blink, it's using the voltage to run the meter to measure the voltage it's using to run the meter to....my best guess is it's an inherent refresh issue, or the blink is caused by the fact the meter "brain" is running off a cap that charges...reads the v while running off the cap, blinks out, cap re-charges and rinse and repeat.

It's funny, on my mega heat sink PT I have a 2w meter on the supply side and one on the load...they both blink at the same rate for the first couple secs then they drift apart and after a while will sync again...it's like a frequency resonance" thing

Ah, so in theory we could wire these meters to not just read the v out, but v in and each of our cells individually?...each pin intercepted with a tact switch?...how geeky would that be?, if possible you know I have to do that

edit, disregard my whole cap. theory, but come on, it sounded cool...on a completely off-topic note, I just landed a polished Reo Grand and an un-opened Kick for $200...Hmmm, new toys:p

You can, but you have to completely separate the in V from the out V. My first attempt was to put the in V to +pin 1 and the out v to +pin 2 so it would flash both. No good, complete failure. Now I use a on off on switch to route my + source to the meter. To do that for two or three cells was a challenge that I will leave to you..:D Since I only have two battery mos, a Lavatube and my batt/Pt which a hardly ever use either it was not a priority.

Just got this back from the Ebay seller on that v/a combo:

Dear ctho6029,

Dear buyers
Hello, ammeter display in normal use real-time current.
Adjust the limit the current through jumper settings. After setting the jumper to resume real-time current display.
Thank you.
32668.

I guess we can interpret that as a it shows "real time" draw...cool if that is actually the case...I'm going to ride on BJ's expenditure and report before I order :p...

Great, that's what the jumper is for, to one side, for adjusting amps and the other side to real time. A on off on switch will solve that.

It's not a priority at all, in fact it's kinda useless info, it's like the line side meter on my Xbox PT...I know it's 12V, it never changes, I just glue gunned it on there for the same reason we put up Christmas lights :D

On the Kick, so am I ...the only thing that concerns me is the 10 watt limit...but I've done the math on a number of my set-ups and I never exceed about 7-8 watts...it's just nice to know you have that ceiling I guess...

Would you ever use constant current in an e cig mod?...perfect for an LED driver though...I've got to actually get one of those cc LM2596's to fix a buddy's LED Budweiser sign

Not a electronic person, just thought if I adjusted it to max 2.5 amps, the resistance in the coil will use the amount of amps it needs (ohms law) depending on the voltage setting.

I'm not an electronics guy either...I'm an industrial controls electrician that works with a lot of motor control, these little regs and such are a bit of a learning curve for me but I guess I have the fortune of having enough theoretical background to be dangerous...1-5 Amps pfft, what, are you Barbie, come on!. From what I understand on constant current (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong) is they are used in parallel/series set-ups say like an led sign where as say if you blow a 5 led segment, effectively dropping the total cct load, the current can't ramp up beyond a "safe" limit causing a cascade failure of the rest.

Well we will find out when I stick a coil on it..lol. I just figured if it is putting out 2.5 amps at 5v and a 2.5 ohm coil will only be using 2 amps at 5v, it should be ok. But in electronics I could be completely wrong, I am a aero mech eng and pilot, what do we know, we risk our lives to these black boxes every day.
