ph, its the chemistry of some people, thats true. Of course I will go back to old brass when I will make new caps because enough people have the same issue. But for now the caps are already made:)

Nope unfortunately that one was in my brass pack...

@Imeo:

If the old brass is cheaper and looks better and a lot of people are unsatisfied with the new choice,
why not going back at all? I don't think saying "it must be the chemistry" is something your customers with these problems want to hear, as we can't just swap to another chemistry. Also I don't think this happens just to a handful of GG Users when reading in the forums about this issue.

Personally I am a little bit confused about your statement right now.

my dear jojo, if you have seen I am maybe the only person that takes risks and make always new things trying to improve the e-cig world. I am not going the usual path. This path is not easy and many times people accuse me for several things. But innovation needs some sacrifies (if this is the right word)
I dont use usual or cheap stuff and I am always trying to bring you the best. If this time you arent happy with what I bring to you then I am really sorry. But I do believe that not all people will have this issue.
My educated guess on this...Imeo already invested in the alloy...no turning back now.

it's too bad though because I keep hearing how expensive this alloy is and how it is better but if it doesn't perform better...I don't care how expensive it is...crap is crap just more expensive crap.

sorry Imeo...usually love all your products but not impressed with what I have been seeing with everyone's results...I guess I will experience it myself when my 3 - JustGG's arrive with the special alloy button.

Imeo, I know that you always try to bring the best to us. I know that you don't use usual and cheap product. No one is saying otherwise, certainly not me. I wouldn't own as many GG products as I do if that were the case. I am simply stating that materials have a place for usage...Not all expensive materials are perfect for every use and it seems to me that this particular material is not proper for this particular usage. It might be fine for mechanical and machining but for esthetics it doesn't appear to be proper. You have always given choices. You have always taken opinions into account. This particular preorder seems to be a bit different. Did the button being brass alloy on a SS JGG mod stop me from ordering 3? No...but I will have to order 3 SS buttons because I won't be happy with the brass and from the photos, especially the NEW brass alloy. Would it have stopped me from ordering an All Brass JGG (if I liked the brass), yes it would. I wouldn't be able to order one seeing the photos displayed here. The percentages of this brass are off for the beauty of esthetics. Either there is too much % of bronze or something but the percentages of copper and zinc and whatever other alloys are off for the purposes of esthetics no matter what the cost. You have created a community family here that when the family says "Pappa we want..." Pappa always delivers... This time, we said "Pappa we want..." and this time Pappa is said no and we are not used to it. :)

maybe its something in the oil on our skin that causes the new brass to tarnish quicker. i have a few of the new brass alloy batt caps and telescope tubes and the ones that are on the mods i use everyday are tarnished like the ones in the pics previously posted. the ones i put on my other gg's that are sitting on my shelf and i havent touched are completely fine and havent tarnished at all. just a thought

RiverNut, I'm with you.. not even with just brass. I swear I could sell my oil/sweat as a corrosive concrete cleaner or something!
I gave up trying to mess with brass.. I love how it looks when it's shiny, but I ruin it very fast... I love all SS anyhow.. luckily.

I do really like those GG pieces people post that are a combo of shiny brass and SS.. but oh well.. it's just not for me and I've accepted that. Maybe with some sort of varnish on top of it, I don't know.

Guts I agree. I think it still looks good when tarnished, especially when you put brass and SS together.
I am using new stealth cap and top tube for a solid 18650. No telescope. Brass bottom cap, SS bottom tube, brass rethreaded, SS top tube, new brass stealth cap, Ithaka. Looks great and has a solid feel in the hand. No battery spring and I did have to shorten the axis post by .025" or about .6mm. Floating pin in new stealth cap make this setup awesome.
I do like the look of the old brass though.

I also have bad experiences with a brass button head that came with the brass pack. And it's hard to polish the button head because it's small and moves around. I still use it however because it supposedly helps with conductivity. All the other brass connectors stay really nice, so it only seems to happen from touching with hands.

Imeo, I wonder if you could make brass button heads that had SS plating on just the front surface?

I know what you say my dear and thank you very much for your post.
I dont say no to my people. I did what I had to do, I did my experiments and I saw that the new alloy was better than the previous one. I never thought that the new alloy may be not suitable with some people.

Anyway, on next run I will go back to regular brass. This one tarnish easier for some people but its still breautiful when it gets cleaned:)

Battery recommendations for the JustGG? Just got my Ithaka and is waiting patiently for my JustGG.

It basically takes anything but a 26xxx battery so whatever you like! Personally there is nothing stealthy about me so I always put the biggest battery I can in anything I use :D
