Just a quick questioni have left my ithaka alone since I bought it about a week ago only put a test coil and a little liquid in the tank and put it back in its clasp bag and left it alone for the arrival of my just gg however I've noticed that it appears to be leaking e liquid from the engraved piece and not the drip tip I have closed it all off and there is only residual liquid left in the tank all the seals are nice and snugly scred together has anyone got any ideas is this normal have I pieced something together wrong or have I got a dodgy o ring thanks in advance

Not a bad idea at all erich. For people that dont like patina, this is an exellent solution. The only we have to care is to put lacquer where we dont have electrical connection
Out of curiosity, is there a reason that we're all shying away from lacquer? It seems like a saxophone would be the perfect example... Maybe have to strip it down and redo it twice a year, but that would be fine in exchange for months of pristine condition... Even the old alloy may not have turned black for me, but it was definitely clouded with tarnish in less than a day.

Ello Fish!

Is the leak coming from the top of the engraved ring or the bottom? Definitely replace the oring first. It is always easier to start with easiest likely cause. Eliminate the obvious.
Much like when the lights go out on a car. Start by checking the fuse before changing the lights.
Let us know.

Ask your GG seller to send you a 17x1 o-ring. With it you will replace the existing 16x1 on Ithaka's base

Thanks a lot aj.:)

Electronics will be so much improved that you will forget what you knew until today.
Well I sure am glad I've got a SS JGG on pre-order.

Like others have said in this thread, I got my first look at GG stuff through Chinese clones. I quickly became a huge fan of your designs Imeo, and so when I saw the Just GG announcement I knew I had to have one. Now I'm going to have to really consider if I should order a second knowing that this will be my only chance.

I think by moving towards electronic mods, you're going to step up the game big time in that market.

When proteus comes out you will see yankee. It will still be a vv mod but some things on it will make you happier than any other electronic mod, especially its width

Sounds good Imeo. Just as food for thought, I am running "The Crown" with my Ithaka and I must say, Variable Watt is, in my opinion, the way to go. The "Audio" interface of the crown makes it really great for mechanical mods. No need for a display :)

With modification, the electronic package of "The Crown" would probably fit "around" the switch assembly, allowing for VV/VW without extending the length of the Mod.

Again this is just food for thought... I know you will satisfy us :)

This happened with two of mine. It is common that new orings may not seal as good when fresh. But swell after getting contact with juice. So many will soak orings in PG when new.

One thing I did is just rub a little Vaseline into the oring, then install them. Does same thing and no leaks.

Fish,
Leaving it set for some time with liquid in it is part of the explanation. With weather changes, temperature changes, and so on, there are pressure changes inside of the tank that could create some minor leakage. These droplets are minor issues. If you have a puddle or a larger wet spot, then there must be a bigger leak, O rings or fitting error.
The best thing about the GG tanks is they can be tilted, held upside down, even dropped (steel) and they don't leak normally. If one does leak, its cause for concern.
My suggestion is to wait until your ready to use it, then see if its a problem to be concerned about.

Oh what is the small Knut that comes separately from the ithaka received mine fully assembled but had a small Knut in a clasp bag what is it used for or is it a spare part had a look at a few tutorials but none have mentioned it
It came with your Ithaka?
It's a replacement for the longer nut that goes in the ceramic, it helps with the gurgling issues some people have.

It is a replacement for the top nut that you will see holding the ceramic in. Some have mentioned an unwelcome gurgle and this should stop the gurgle if there is issue. It is not a critical replacement. In fact, I changed a couple of mine and have since went back to the original nuts. It was never an issue for some of us. I never mind a bit of gurgle if it happens....reminds me I have juice to vape!

If you do replace, the wide base faces down on the ceramic base.

Some may suggest otherwise but, I would build with existing nut in place, check for any issues and proceed to vape the hell out of the Ithaka! :)

at least in 3 months jj. But I will still have for 10-15 days maybe justGG for sale even after preorders will finish:)
Hello Imeo! I just learned about your mods! From what I have heard they are the Rolls Royce of mechanical mods! I won't have the money for this pre-order. Just wondering when you will make another batch? I would love to own any of your mods, ggts or just gg.
