my brass justGG just arrived. worked perfect straight out of the bubble wrap. with a 18650 battery it was up and running in seconds.
i was quite surprised at how light it really is. - it seems to hit much harder than my nemesis.
(but I will test again after i clean up the nemesis and all the contacts)

it came with 2x large and 2x small O-rings and a extra SS button switch. is there anything i am missing?
is there supposed to be a 'softer' spring?

also...

not to post too many photos but the brass is tarnished all over... i haven't had a brass mod before.
can i clean with toothpaste and brush and put all the parts into the sonic cleaner?

or will i have to get special brass cleaner...

Straight to dirt and rocks? Not even getting on the Ramen Noodle train? Uh oh thread - Man down, Man Down! :)
Am already on a ramen noodle diet after the JustGG. After this round of orders, I might not even afford to boil rocks. Rocks dipped in tap water like tea might be enough.

Mother's metal polish or Brasso work well to clean up the tarnish. But it is only temporary. It will tarnish quickly with handling so I don't even bother anymore. Actually the look of the patina has grown on me quite a bit and I now prefer it.

Save the elbow grease for something else. :)
Jojo thinks white cotton glove work well :D

what if you were playing a mime for holloween Dark? That would be one reason.:p

The SS is my work mod but the brass is my home mod, and I'm finding that just wiping it down before I put it up for the night works great at slowing down the oxidation.

If you catch me playing a mime for Halloween, feel free to shoot me in the head.

Just the one. :) I hold it in reserve now with a dual coil for when I am rebuilding my Ithaka. Tomorrow I plan on spending a little time polishing up the JGG without removing the patina to see how she looks.

I have completely torn down my office looking for my spare o-rings and button for this thing, but I still cant find them...

That would be tough. Depends so much on the composition of the brass and I believe Imeo used an aluminum alloy with this batch so you get more brown and that looks like it has alot of red in it. Maybe with heat, but I am not putting a torch to mine to find out. :)

By the way, that brass telescope I got from you turned out to be the older brass alloy. Not that I am complaining, just letting you know. :)

I was thinking about polishing with pure beeswax to see how it goes. Anytime I have used any commercial waxes, they only hold off the tarnish for about 15 minutes. I am really looking to keep the patina, maybe even let it get a bit darker like my other pieces, but add a sheen to it so it isn't so dull.

Picture is horrible, but its late and I don't feel like setting everything up for a good shot...

Please don't let your beauties in that condition. I can't even look at them
Once... we were going at tobacco stores even twice a day buying cigarettes. It's not a big deal to clean our GG's once a week IMHO :(
