...well i decided to polish and clean up the gg which i got a day or so ago...

i put it in the sonic cleaner, used brasso and then after some car polish wax... not as shiny as i want... but...
the patina isn't happening as fast as when i first received it and i've used it for most of the day...
it's the wax coating that's slowing down oxidation.

personally i don't think brasso is that good a polish... and i've nothing that special to work with other than microfiber cloth.
in any case... once this starts to patina again... i will leave it for a few weeks and enjoy. :)

btw: the engraving is rather deep which certainly is a plus! icon14.png

I stopped using Brasso because of how gritty it is. I mostly use Flitz now. Works great and is far less gritty for softer metals.

Brasso - HORRORS

Flitz liquid - good

Simichrome - RW used this before Sharkhide - said it worked well

Sharkhide metal polish - best of all IMO - if they ever start shipping outside of USA - it makes Brass and Aluminum SCREAM, least amt of abrasives it.

Para recommended it to me and UKTarget a few months before I bought some (expensive). - my GG's never looked as good before I started using it around May 2012

I see a few people taking credit for recommending sharkhide on diff forums - PARA did it first - just saying.

Thanks a lot dspin,
Thats give good direction becouse there many designes to choose from.
We have here places similar to wallmart in concept but of others firms.
I wasn't sure what designe to
Choose from (wall mount or desk base or somthing like this that you can place and take in house
Where ever you like, this one look cool, and there are close designe from known firm to choose.
I use somthing like this with bigger compartment for my power tools but for the vaping stuff,
We do need those many little drawers.
This one look well setup for the challenge:)

Hey again,

So I got the fresh batteries; the red IMR 18650, 3.7v, 2000mah. First charged in an xtar until light goes green. Wind up a fresh 1.0 ohm ithaka with kanthal NR/LR wire from stormy cellar; I use two wires and wind them together, run the twisted wires down ONE channel (this could be my mistake) on each side of the ithaka. Fires like a champion for an hour or so and them ... Dead. Is this a battery issues? Atomizer? Coil killed battery? I feel stupid :)

If it was a short, it wouldn't fire at all. Most likely a battery starting to go bad. With a 1.2ohm coil, I can usually get about 4 hours on the same rated 18340. I got tired of changing them out, so I only use 18490. Run two mods with two Ithakas with both running the same coil and go all day on just 2 batteries.

One point to note, when you wrap your coils, make sure the joined sections partially touch the wick. That's just to make sure every part of the coil is being used.
