I like that, Eddie, but know nothing about SS. So, what is "solid role", how long does such a wick last, do you need to prepare the SS, how do you get the SS wick into the coil, etcetera. Am afraid, you can't just leave it here - a step by step picture tutorial is the standard here, specially for us untechs:).

I would start with a"genisis" style RBA like a aga-t2. I'm happy to help you along in that setup as well as this one. What I mean by solid ROLL is no sign of a hole in the center of the rolled SS mesh. A good SS wick will last months. Though it's not my daily device I've had the same wick and coil in my aga-t 2 for months now. Rinse and dry burn every few tanks and almost good as new...

Thanks Eddie, I only have RM2s so will have to try on them. Even if you could just point me to a thread or two that give basics on SS wicks will be helpful. I love the idea of "months"!

A genisis style is just a good start matthee. Easier to learn and understand SS wick and coils and then end up here. I just don't want to be responsible for you possibly ruining a device or worse injuring yourself. It's" jumping right in the deep end of the pool" without knowing how to swim. I'll post a tutorial and when you get that aga-t let me know and I'll help you get that setup.

Thanks for the "likes" super. Used your recommendations from your tutorials on micro coils. Just wasn't content with " natural" wick or silica...

Matthee sign the waiver, go over checklist and as soon as I have time I'll post a step by step. Off to Brooklyn today then I have a game tonight...

Oh...you meant solid "roll". Now I get it. That kinda confused me too.

Yeah, sorry about that. Making a" solid" wick isn't that big of a deal here in the rm2 or any non-genny style rba where the wick isn't submerged in a tank and the conduit for air exchange. When someone needs to leave the" fill screw" out on their genisis it's because they have a poor wick...

Thanks for that. Swype auto correct gets the better of me sometimes

Alright, I'll post a how to. sign waiver here X______________
Do you have a torch, 400SS mesh, knowledge of micro coils, good scissors, a meter or mod with built in meter, ?... anything I'm forgetting...

If you have that stuff then we're good to go..

Ok, Eddie, consider your waiver signed. I have a good torch, been building micros for some time, have good scissors, a Vamo 3 (used only to read resistance and batteries) and a reasonable amount of common sense. SS mesh is on order. So, you can go with the tutorial when you have the time. Thanks, much appreciated.

Awesome. I'll try to be very thorough.

I'm still laughing at myself for the "role" thing...I even read mathees responses and saw nothing wrong with it... need more caffeine...

Pshaw...been there done that. I always manage to catch my typos AFTER I've posted. Used "hear" the other day four times in a post except I meant "here"...doh!

I've still got most of a 12x12 inch sheet of 500 left over from my genny days...might give it a whirl.

The last mesh wick I made was too long, and being me I kept the part I snipped off to put into an RDA someday since it seemed the perfect size. I just hadn't gotten around to it yet, but it is ready and waiting. I still want to try the ekowool I bought first, I think just plain and then maybe as a sleeve.

At least now I know it can be done (which I was pretty sure of anyway, but glad you hit the deep end of the pool first) ;)

On my next I may try 5/64. Would that still be considered a micro coil? Or is it just the style of coil, grouped with more than normal wraps?

I'm liking it a lot super. Giving it a 3 week evaluation. Pretending it's my only mod. There's things I really like and things I really don't but, you're just not going to beat the reliability factor which we all know as vapers is huge..
