The fresh battery is because if there is to much juice you have a better chance of burning through an over fill. This is for learning.

A really flooded atty will leak through the air holes in the gold band. I still get leaks when my battery gets weak and I'm not paying attention.

Go for the over fill. All it cost is time and a few drops of juice. Got to find the line for filling. Like I said before if you haven't flooded the atty... Go for messy and back off and you will be in the sweet spot.

The thing is I'm not sure how much is full, like I can see the top glitering up and looks like a good amount s soaked in, but it's not overfilled. Also, what is flooding the atty like, as I probably don't know again since I'm new to this. But thanks for the advice, I am going to try looking for videos as to flooding and filling.

This is for trying a different flavor and not for trying flood it right?

I've been using a 510 for about 6 weeks now, most of this is going to just be the same information that's already been stated, but let's see if i can organize some of it for you.

1. 510 Battery's experience a drop off in performance when they start dieing, that's why it's recommended to use a 100% full battery when your trying to do something new. That way you know what it's going to do under optimum conditions.

2. As far as the atomizers go, even when you blow out the primer, it's going to take a few fills to get the flavor and vapor going. We call this the "break in" period, and there's no set time frame for it. The atomizer's actually gain better performance after you've used it for a while.

3. When your filling a cartridge, if your having a little bit of an issue as far as knowing when to stop, don't worry to much about over filling it. Drip until you feel like the next drop will over flow it, and then just gently dab some paper towel on the top to soak away some of the extra. You don't want it to be pooled on top of the filling material.

4. If you are getting a gurgling sound when your vaping, it can mean that the vaporizer is flooded. If there's to much liquid in there, your heating element won't be able to produce as much heat, and your not going to get a lot of vapor out of it. Usually, what i'll do, is take the cartridge completely off and smoke directly off the atomizer lip. I do this until I'm confident that the atomizer is no longer drenched, and then I'll put the cartridge back on. You can also "blow out" excess liquid by blowing through the THREAD END of the atomizer.

if you just recently put down analogs your taste buds haven't healed yet, nothing you vape will taste right for atleast a month.

This is also a big part of it. If you've been smoking for a while, I suggest you start off with a stronger flavor. I personally found that a Strawberry was excellent for me for the first couple of weeks, it was completely different from what i used to smoke, and it was one of the only flavors i could really recognize at first. After 6 weeks, I've been able to switch to some of the more subtle flavors, and I'm enoying them more then i did when i first tried them during week 1.

First, thanks for all the advices.

So, you suggest I try 2 510s at the same time, and if I enjoy it I should try looking for a new PV called MOD? But I just got 510s today tho :( Also, so if the PTB mod doesn't work for me, is there any mod I can do for them to help until I am ready to get a new one? Like maybe would a batt mod work?

I tried what you said, and it didn't really do much for me. Also, I don't taste any burnt taste or maybe it's just I don't know what the difference. I think it's really just the juice is rather weak so I'm waiting for my other juice to see what the difference it.
Question: should I use a new atty for a different juice or is there a simple way for me to clean out the one I'm using now and still have a new better taste?

I cleaned out my brand new 510 attys (hot water soak with a bit of vinegar, rinse rinse rinse, blow out extra water, dab paper towel inside, let dry overnight) and am finding much better results after cleaning.

The VG mint flavor I'm vaping is yummy and sweet upfront, with a mild throat hit. I can really taste that one now. The maple flavor I tried was too subtle, and gave very little in the way of taste. It was the same after I washed out the atty.

I do think that there is a lot to what folks are saying here on the forum about different juice producing different results.

I stopped smoking for about half a year or more so I think my taste buds are working fine, but what I realised is that I think I have probably flooded my atty the whole time.

My 510 does make the gurgling sound and it's even since I first used it, at first I thought that was just the sound that it's supposed to make, like a humidifier. But then I took off the cart and just watched my atty while I have it turned on (didn't suck on it though cause it feels weird), anyways I watched as no vapor came out so I blew the atty clean. Put it back on and let it on again and now it burns bright red with some vapor, so I think that was the problem the whole time.

No place like ~/
There's that burnt ecopure english toffee taste.
I agree you've probably been flooding the whole time. With the atomizer pretty dry now, make sure your cart doesn't have a puddle of liquid on top and put it on the atomizer without adding extra drops to the atomizer. Let it sit for a minute to let the wick pick some up and give it a go.
Also, it's always a good time to unscrew the atomizer and spin the threads against your fingertip to see if there's any liquid there. If so, wipe the threads down and also wipe out the battery. I do this constantly. Way more then I should since it's almost always bone dry.

First of all, I am really glad to hear that I am not the only one to experience the difficulties of being a first time user or newer user. The 510 and ecigs in general definately have a learning curve to them. I had a lot of problems with burnt tastes at the beginning which almost totally turned me off from vaping altogether, but I was determined to stick with it.

I totally aagree with all of the folks who mentioned the taste being affected by the crossover from smoking analogs. My taste certainly came back after a short while. I also agree with the folks that have mentioned that different vapes produce varying amounts of vapor. I have been using mostly vg, but also go to the pg's from time to time. I have had problems with heartburn from certain flavors as well, Strawberry in particular. The menthol that I have been using seems to produce a lot of vape.

This may be goofy, but I do not always feel like a whole lot of vapor is being produced, but when I looked in the mirror, I was suprosed to see the amount produced. I took a drag of a friend's analog for comparison. Not even close. I think it was just the burn that was missing. Just a thought.

I also take the cart off and puff directly form the atty when it has flooded. This has worked well especially when I do n ot have a paper towel to blow it out. I f you are having a burnt taste, it is ppossible that the juice has gotten a bit rancid. In this case, I would certainly blow it out into a tissue, tap and repeat. I will even insert the tissue to get the rest of the burnt juice out.

Also...
I recently bought a new kit and have been hesitant to break it open due to the original experience of breaking it in. I think I may try the vinegar cleaning that was mentioned earlier. Thank you for the tip.
