I didn't know what to expect when my Provari arrived. I guess my reaction to the bubblewrap was -- hmmm, this must be how Provape feels is the safest way to ship their product. As a company, they seem pretty unpretentious when I compare them to some elite mod makers in the same upper scale class (IMHO). Although the competition mods certainly look great, sexy even, I think Provape focuses more on function and reliability over style and visual impression.

So, yeah, I noticed the bubble wrap. I carefully but impatiently cut the bubblewrap with some safety scissors, undoubtedly dropped the bubblewrap as I held my Provari in both hands, all my attention focused on studying every detail about it. It's weight. Hefty. Fit and finish. Simply marvelous. You remember when you first held your Provari, right?

It somehow felt like a defining moment in my relatively short vaping experience. I felt real good about holding this instrument in my hands. (Its rarely far from one or the other for as long as I am awake.) It seems strange to say, but my thoughts and feeling at that moment were of...confidence. Confirmation, that by holding this, reinforced my confidence that I had made the right choice for me. This was looking like the beginning of a nice, long term relationship.

I also remember the day when I got my first big battery mods, the Silver Bullet and BB. They both came in a white cloth bag with their names embossed on the bag. I wasn't impressed by the bags one way or another; in fact, they haven't been seen since the arrival of the two AltSmokes.

Mine came in bubble wrap (lots) with more bubble wrap filling the box. I got the extension cap and an Ego-510 adapter as well. Both of those were in nice heavy plastic ziplock bags. Perfectly protected all. Personally I couldn't care less about a nice "presentation" box as long as the product arrives undamaged. My two cents.

I have to agree with the OP. I clearly remember opening the package and thinking "that's it?". I can also agree that in the long run it makes no impact on the overall product.

The issue is marketing of the product. The first few moments, opening that box, can play a big part on the experience of the consumer. It is also a reflection of the manufacture's image of the product. Even some liquid vendors package special. Plume Room is one (really nice presentation box) and I am sure there are others. Even the inexpensive ego kits come with presentation boxes. Nothing fancy, but a lot more than bubble wrap. Bottom line, it's marketing. How much would a padded box with the logo on it cost? Maybe 50 cents in bulk? It flat out makes the customer feel special and that they bought something special. Bubble wrap is fine for my e-juices, but not impressive for a $200 PV.

I knew exactly what the OP meant with his post. It was a let down and I will always remember it. It's still a great PV. The OP also said that he loves the unit. However, his point on the packaging is perfectly valid.

It's akin to buying a Porsche, and having it driven to your door from the dealership by Larry the cable guy. It wouldn't take very much to create a better first impression.

It could be argued that the lack of superfluous packaging is in perfect keeping with the image of Provape and the Provari as a no BS company and device.

What counts is was it delivered perfect, and how it works, and lastly if something should go wrong David at Provape will handle you with white kit gloves and your mod is back in a flash ( not that much ever goes wrong ) What happens to those Chinese mods when you have an issue, and even after warranty is up ? at Provape they still fix your mod and even if it cost a couple of bucks its done right and back to you in a flash. Just saying.

I agree, I was surprised it didn't come in a fancy package or with a booklet of some kind. Yea. I know I can download and view the manual online but still for what we pay for these PV's I expected more. I love the the device but the packaging is pretty mediocre. First mod I ever got was a Mako midi years ago for 60- 80 bucks and even that came in a nice tin (still have to this day). All I'm saying is something as good as the Provari (and expensive) deserves better packaging, Apple style imo. :p

I hear they have great CS, I don't think anyone disagrees. Packaging leaves an impression.
