I have seen this topic brought up a few times before but I 'm just looking for some suggestions of how to get my nic fix until I can vape again. I have tried vaping through my nose but it seems to cause issues with my clearos because I can't pull hard enough maybe? I'm not sure but I know my Nautilus was gurgling pretty bad for the first time and this has never happened before. So I tried my T3s and that seems to be working OK. Honestly though I'd rather not have to do this. Would putting a little juice inside my lip help at all? It's going to really suck because I LOVE the actual act of vaping but the nicotine withdrawals are going to be what I'm really concerned about. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

I vaped just fine. Just be careful. Take lung hits if possible.

Sent from my LG G2, using Smack-a-talk HD.

The problem isn't mouth vs lung hits, the problem is the pressure created by the sucking. You aren't supposed to use straws with for the same reason. The pressure from sucking can remove the clot from the hole left by the tooth and cause what it's known as a dry socket. Rest assured if you get one it will likely be one of the most excruciating experiences of your life.

I would suggest the patch or noise inhaling. I do not suggest anything that requires suction in your mouth.

Either rub juice on your gums or maybe put a single drop in your mouth? I'd be careful with the drop as it could be kind of burny, and you do have an open wound there. Try the rubbing thing first.

It's wise not to put any suction on that blood clot until it's thoroughly sealed into place, so if they didn't warn you away from straws, I will. Trust me, you don't want a dry socket. I'd say "ask me how I know" but I'd really rather not discuss it... :)

I can think of a method to vape more safely, but I'm really hesitant to mention it...you could still dislodge that clot and put yourself in for a lot of pain. It's better you find an alternate method until tomorrow afternoon at least.

The dentist is concerned about dry socket, and you get that from the suction, straws, cigarettes, and even vaping could cause this. When I had a tooth pulled I smoked just fine, and didn't get dry socket. I had to modify my draw from the cigarette though. I'm no expert but would assume that if you make your atty give a more airy draw it would be fine, just so long as you don't pull on it like mad. You'll get your nic fix, but might not get the vapor you're used to.

Having two molars extracted last May was actually the event that enabled me to quit smoking (after 46 years of 2 PAD) and start vaping ...

My dentist did caution me about "dry socket", and recommended that I keep a gauze pad over the extraction site for the first 4 hours. By then all bleeding had stopped ...

I used NJOYs for the next few days until I bought my forst 510 kit, and never had any additional discomfort. Keeping the suction to a minimum was natural, it hurts even to suck on a straw for the first couple of days. Pain is a great disincentive ...

By the way, I did actually attempt to light a cigarette a few hours after the extraction. The pain from the hot smoke was intense, I realized that was a really bad idea, and never did that again ...

Clearly it would be best to abstain, from smoking or any other activity that could cause irritation to the healing area. But the cool vapor allowed me to satisfy my nicotine craving with no additional irritation or pain, other than the normal discomfort of losing a tooth ...

Since then, I've had two follow-up procedures. A reshaping of the bone graft that was done immediately after the extraction, and the installation of two titanium implants. The oral surgeon knows that I vape, and just recommended moderation ...

I'll be having two more troublesome molars pulled later this year, and anticipate that I will again vape (carefully) through the healing period ...

I had dry socket once from having a tooth pulled and continuing to smoke cigs. It was enough pain to make me realize that ANYTHING would likely be preferable. The next tooth I had pulled I just suffered through about 2+ days with no smokes. Not fun but I made it and did not get dry socket. To me that was a win! :) Good luck and while I would stay away from the nic gum due to chewing issues with the clot, I might consider a patch for a day or two if I really needed the nic that bad.

I don't know how long you have been vaping but you might be surprised how long you can go without it. I am positive that I was more addicted to whatever the heck else was in cigs cause after a month or so my cravings has disappeared! I do it cause I like it but if I have things to do I don't even think about it.
