Is there anything that doesn't make your throat hurt?
I read your posts about sore throats and your description of your throat feeling like 35 grit sandpaper had been used on it. That was classic!
Then I almost wet my knickers when I read about the "Juicing Vendor" who was using 60% water to thin their juices and you said, "I basically have a 1st degree burn in my throat." LOL!!!
It could be PG sensitivity because that makes me feel like my throat is literally being ripped out!!! 8-o
It also makes people extremely thirsty too...

Lovepedal just emailed that they sent me a sample of their new 12 strand 2mm to test, I will report back on results.

No offense but I think I'll pass on the glass, inner tube, coils though...
In your experience, could it be that hemp wicks better with VG?
Viscosity of the liquid is what effect its capillary action. VG will always wick less than PG on the same wick..
The Queen had just recently been following the Stainless Steel Mesh, Oxidation Discussion that led me to this thread for only a few days now. So I haven't had a chance to even purchase any to try and experiment with yet. I was wondering about how well it would wick with 100% VG and thanks to Big Screen D, I now know.
The one thing that I did know from reading the ss mesh, oxidation discussion was that out of all of the materials that were discussed, Hemp was the obvious choice for so many reasons!
I quite literally started dancing a jig when this "Just hemp" thread was started!!! I am so on board with this and would like to thank everyone for all of their information, testing and sharing! I am looking forward to being a serious and hopefully a helpful contributor myself as my mind has been racing like a whippet with so many ideas already, in spite of some of my quirky comments. ;-) For starters since I don't have any hemp or other materials that I have been thinking about experimenting with yet is that maybe we could call ourselves "Hempsters" lol!

This is absolutely right.
Additionally some of the most beneficial properties of hemp fiber was also why I was wondering about how well it would wick with 100% VG too.

For over four years I have only used VG, anything else in my juice is flavor and/or nic. When all I used was SS wicks I kept looking for better wicking and thus started the use and thread of 500 mesh and later 635 mesh. Now I am almost 100% hemp, but I have found only one hemp that I really like and out wicks everything out there. That hemp was the original 12 strand 2mm from Lovepedal. I am working with Lovepedal to try and get this in her stock again.
BJ you have been so helpful in finding the best type of hemp available for our purposes. I have been reading about the various types of hemp twine that is available and that others have tried on this thread. I trust your judgement on this implicitly, and even more now that I know that you are also a VG user too.
I have a pretty good understanding of textiles, and also believe that the 12 strand, 2mm would be the best. Please let us know as soon as you try Lovepedal's new sample as to whether, or not this is the same as the original kind that you first bought from her that you found to be the best. I can't wait to buy some too!

So I'm getting low on the Aunt Lydia's and am going to try this hemp thing now, but I'm going to cash in on your R&D BJ (I think I've done my share of R&D, time to be a little lazy
)...I want to start with the best, can you post when Ms. Lovepedal gets stock?...then again, seeing as I bf BJ and wicking isn't super important, is it just a strand count or is there a difference in actual material?

This one seems to be waxed ('polished') with potato starch; not sure whether the starch can be cleaned off by boiling the twine...
It is not the same, this is three large twisted strands and the Lovepedal is 12 twisted strands. I tried some of the 3 strand and even though the larger strands are made up of many small fibers in both, the Lovepedal 12 strand wicked much better. The 3 strand I tested was from a different source than the one you posted.

Quig after trying many I think it is actually the material, the best breaks down to very small fibers, almost cotton like. see Pic.
For those who are anxious to try just get the 1mm from Lovepedal and if you want a larger wick, just double or triple it.
I have both natural and white in this size and use it doubled or quad. Easier to thread doubled thru a coil.

That's the stuff I used for quite a while (on the recommendations in this thread; thanks again BJ). It wicks quite well. I set up my AGA-T2 with a U-wick, but it's very fiddly and I got irritated with it and went back to German silica. But I don't like using silica in applications where hemp is viable, and lately I've been running my IGO-L with four strands of the 1mm lovepedal hemp, wrapped back around to fill the 'well' with hemp. Works brilliantly. The silica is nice but I don't really trust it, and after some throat irritation I'm going back to hemp.
I'd love to find another source for the 2mm 12-strand because using four strands of the 1mm makes it a pain to wrap a coil.
I got some Innokin 16s and had not figured out how to recoil them with hemp. After a few tries I finally got it working good. I used a doubled piece of 1mm hemp for the 7 wrap 30g coil. It goes in vertically, pos wire to the bottom between the center post and the grommet. The neg wire wrapped between two of the wick slots. I used a small piece of 2mm hemp as a flavor wick in the long slots. When I inserted the vertical wick I pushed the flavor wick to one side.

2.1 ohms after deducting .3 for the meter.
Ready to use.

I'm thinking the 1mm will work fine, placed an order for 25 yards of natural...if you've seen my vids and how I build my bf's, it's just a matter of how many times around the ol' 18650 I go to fill up my oval coil...this is gonna be tough, Lydia has been good to me, I already feel like I'm steppin' out on my best girl
