Take the 12 strand and break it down. Break apart the individual strands down to fiber. Wrap this fiber tight around the vertical coil, then pack the cavity with more. No degumming needed.
wowOwow! i did this build last night and took a couple vapes and got such a nic buzz that i had to call it a day.

Finally got some hemp in the mail to try out. It's boiling right now. Question is if it's really necessary to go through the 12 step process to get a clean vape from this stuff. If I do 3 passes of boiling in distilled water is that enough?
I boil mine about three times for 15 min each. Hemp flavor doesn't completely go away though, which I don't mind too much since the taste isn't too gross and disappears after a mil or two of vaping. It'd be nice to completely get rid of the flavor but I'm just too lazy to go through all the process. BJ mentioned that cleaning with dishsoap followed by more boiling helps. I might try that sometime.
soaking in oxiclean or bs/hp before boiling does probably more than boiling alone. if that's not on hand any soap is better than none

For gennies I would stick to Ao wicks, never had much luck with hemp or any organic on a gennie.. BTW the original name by the inventor "raidy" is genisis. For those that have not seen his thread... He is the master modder....

Can't find the ao thread, just the ceramic, I used ceramic on my rsst thought about it for my kraken but I don't wanna deal with them that small.

Yep many of us have passed thru cotton to bamboo and now into hemp, to me cotton is three year old model, part of my past, like SS mesh.
My best genisis wick on a RSST. 2mm 12 strand hemp twine, Ni, Ao. This with a 1.5 ohm flat ribbon coil in a rsst with the insert removed.

I'm begging your indulgences.I had some questions about hemp I was hoping you'd answer.Fist I'm a strictly ceramics guy,but I'm always willing to try new things......that don't involve ss mesh,or silica.
I've been reading through this thread lately, and decided to build a vertical coil in my kfl,up until now i've always built a ceramic wick in my kfl...... so I built a triple twisted 32 gauge micro coil that netted out at .8.... not having any hemp on hand i used cotton, and wrapped it around my coil....it came out looking just like in the pictures once it was filled with juice.... like a giant carto.
I really couldn't fault the flavor I got from this build.it was very very good flavor,maybe as good as ceramic, but I've always had this problem with cotton....I don't like it....I wanna like it, I really do,there are so many different attys you can use it in, it's wicks super well.....but I don't like it. It has a funny after taste that I admit diminishes with time. It has a wispy light kind of density to the vapor it produces, so the flavor hits you hard at first and then disappears, whereas ceramic has this cloying kind of vapor that lingers in the mouth and on the tounge syrupy like. also for whatever reason which I'd like to hear if others have experinced this, but cotton seems to irritate my lungs, it could be that cotton absorbs almost no heat and all the heat goes into your lungs super charged, but I don't like the vape.... like the flavor.
So my question is...how does hemp vape..is it similar to cotton, if so perhaps it's not worth me pursuing, or is it a unique kind of vape different than cotton.
