If everybody in here would approach just one person every day could you imagine how many lives could be affected? If you just took the time to explain the health benefits and cost savings to one individual each day we could actually change the lives of millions of people.
Most people are ignorant to the facts of PV's (e-cigs) and many have not even heard of them. I have read thread after thread of people explaining these things to their drs. because they have never heard of them before.
I have approached all my family and friends and have converted about half of them and now I just start talking to people everywhere I go. If they are outside standing around having an analog I go over and start to vape, it peaks their interest then we have a nice conversation about them. This way I am spreading the knowledge and maybe helping someone change their life.
So my motto is "One person every day".

I started down the e-cig path because of a random encounter. I was helping setup a network at a local pawn shop. I took a break and went outside to have a smoke. One of the employees was coming back from break and said, "Man you should get off of those cigarettes. Go get an electronic cigarette."
"A what now?"
"An electronic cigarette. It puffs like a cigarette but you just get nicotine and not all the other junk."

So, I can attest that total strangers can help other total strangers kick the stinky habit.

I've tried on several occasions.
1 minute into my spiel about how it's changed my life, legalization, harm reduction etc. peoples eyes get that look. Eyes glazing, smile stiffening. Then, involuntary eye twitches while searching for an escape route.
Apparently I need to assimilate everything I've learned on a deeper level. Or I'm just a dull, boring person :D

Good job, we all have to work on getting the word out. I've had pretty good luck with my family but I'm always watching and waiting for my next convert :)
I was really lucky wednesday night, DH and I came home late and low and behold two comcast employees were smoking in front of my house. So I pulled up and asked them what they were doing while I hit my Reo. That was all it took. They had dozens of questions and a previous run in with a cig look alike which was awful. So I pulled out some cards and put on a sanitized DT for them to try out my Grand at 6V and some yummy juice I had just mixed. It blew their sox off. They were stunned and had no idea it could be so good :) Hahaha I passed on ECF info and giggled all the way into the house. That was a good night :)

Well, I am as interesting, witty and well educated as is humanly possible, but I usually get the same reaction. So don't blame yourself.

I've only been able to educate one person so far (asked while I was out vaping at a public event), but her partner was already trying to quit smoking and looking for alternate approaches, so I have a good feeling about it. I do know I felt so happy to have done it that I'd do it again!

My friends even teased me about how exuberant I was when she said "May I ask what you're smoking?" and I said, "Absolutely!" and strode on over to show off my PV. It didn't bother me. (Then one of them bummed a pack of smokes off me, so I got to privately feel all smug.)

That is just it, I never start the conversation I just pull out my PV and wait for them to get interested and approach me. I give them the basics and see their reactions. If they seem pretty interested and start asking a lot of questions then I know they are really interested and I give them all the info they need. I have even volunteered to get together with them and bring all my stuff and show them how to get started and let them try samples. I pretty much have a mini suitcase with all my stuff in it. I would have to say that I have probably converted about 30-40 people if they have stuck with it.
