Hi, I just tried one 14500 in my box mod last night...first impression is WOW very nice! I haven't tried looking at them with a MM yet, but plan to. I will update the box mod post with my impressions, right now they are very good!

Yeah, AW's typically have a little less mah, but perform very well.

Not to sound dense... I'm looking for my own 14500's and have seen three brands pop up a lot.

How does a battery "perform well" other than life? I would consider a battery that didn't deliver voltage to be "defective" so the only other real criteria is battery life.

Lower mAh seems contrary to "performing well" in my eyes. What am I missing?

All I can say...which is very limited on a Friday night for a multiple of reasons...is mine are doing just fine! They are not the AWs and such...but ultrafire LC 14500 3.6v 900mAh, those grey and black ones...work great so far...but I am using them in a MadVapes box mod, one at a time and alternating them. In the big meantime, the roughstack is keeping me a slave.

From my experiences with AW, Ultrafire, and Battery Junction batteries, the AW batteries last as long or longer on a charge as much higher mAh rated batteries of the other brands. The mAh ratings of the AW batteries realistic, the others way overstated. I have no experience with Trustfire batteries.

Besides the mAh rating, AW batteries have a better discharge rating than Ultrafire, which is much better suited to vaping, especially with LR attys. If you push a battery beyond it's discharge capability, it will shorten the life of the battery.
