Well I got it, used (using) it and like it but do have a question. Is it supposed to fire the coil when simply checking status of the battery life and coil resistance? It fires for about 3 seconds when checking the battery (enough to get a good puff of vapor), and about 1 second when checking the resistance.

Also, I changed out the battery because it indicated 3.6v, but when I put the battery on the charger (efest-LUC) it showed it as 3.9v. My batteries have had several months use with my Vamo and am wondering if the Provari better indicates a more true life/capacity?

Yes, its supposed to do that. I would trust my provari indicator before I would the efest charger. Your fire button will flash rapidly when your battery is dead.
