I received my black ProVari a few days ago and I'm very impressed to say the least. The level of design and workmanship that went into this device exceeded my expectations and far exceeds what can be shown or demonstrated on video. One has to hold, operate and vap the device to truly appreciate it. Construction wise threads, finish, connector ease-of-use I have have seen nothing it's equal. Performance the ability to vary voltages for different attys, flavors and vapor strengths has allowed me to take control of my vaping experience as never before. Also picked up the extended warranty. I could go on and on but I'll spare you all that and just go mix some juice :)

i have the original and the black one my only gripe is that the screen display could get scratched i put tape on mine but dont know any other remedy for that.so if you just want to get one i would say stick with the original imo

I'm wondering....do you think a piece of screen protector cut to size would work to protect the display? I'm still in the wait-for-shipment-to-arrive mode so I can't check it out myself.

I have had mine since before Christmas. I bought the extended warranty since it was going to be one of the first production batches. If I was in the market for another Vari I would pass on the warranty. Most failures (there have been very few) are within the first few days and ProVape stands behind the product. Mine is satin finish and looks and works as good as it did the day it arrived. This is a solid well built American made unit from a well respected Supplier. I have a few MOD's at my disposal and still hit the Vari daily. It is an awesome unit but I do find it a bit large to carry around so I mainly use it while home or slap a MAP tank on it for driving.

I've had my provari for almost three months, I've dropped it, I've carried it in my pocket with change and stuff, had it fall over and roll off my desk I don't know how many times and I haven't gotten a single scratch on the lens. The lens seems to be kinda soft, I can take my finger nail and make an indent in it and it comes back out after a few seconds. I think the lens is pretty resilent to scratches so I'm not too worried about it.

Thanks again for all the input so far, I think I will spring for the warranty considering how many times I have accidentally dropped my eGo's. And narrowed it down to Black or satin. I know I will find some way to scratch the chrome so that is out.

Your going to love the black.

The paint job on is absolute top quality and the device looks SO cool in black. If your concerned about scraching the screen a carefully cut out bit of cell phone screen protector will ease your mind. Worked for me. I went for the warranty btw.

Enjoy.

@saintj - love your avatar!!! I am DV absinthe fareeak! :)

On Topic: The Provari just rocks. Best PV I have owned hands down and the VV works great. Not to mention being able to check Ω of my atties etc. Doesn't have an auto feed tank or anything - but with the 510-T atomizer or a 510 -eGo adaptor, or a CE2 tank mod, well you got your tank. Construction quality is top notch and it requires little to no maintenance. I have the satin finish, no polishing etc. Just a little noalox on the thread for the end cap is all. Extended warranty? I figure if it will break, it'll happen in the first year if at all. The only thing that concerns me is button life, but I would pay ProVari to fix I think. Plus ProVape will come out with something new by then, and I will buy it!

@JollyRogers - saintj tips a toke of DV absinthe in your direction Sir :)

Off topic but singing the praises of the ProVari nonetheless.

The only way I'll consume my absinthe anymore is by direct drip and the variable voltage offered by the ProVari. It's a very complex flavor and I have discovered that DD along with tweaking voltages depending on the condition of the (dedicated) 510 releases the flavors in a way unobtainable by any form of wicking I have found. The "drip shield" (requires an adapter) from Empire Mods makes DDing bullet proof. More of a drip tank then a shield in my estimation, the way it traps and re feeds liquid with zero leakage.

As far as buying the next ProVari if they announced tomorrow that they were coming out with one that had a blue electronic display I would be on the waiting list.

To go off topic on my own thread for a second what is DV absinthe? I have tried two bottles of absinthe, Both of which were from the Chzech Republic, Two of which could have bought a ProVari at this time. Have you guys ever tried the real thing or is it speculation? Last time I drank absinthe it was the last six shots of an expensive bottle and I was tripping till i yakked an hour later. To go even FURTHER off topic the best trip I had was off Salvia. Just to throw that out there. And if u really want a good trip off it make sure you find out how to.
