Just Purchased Vanilla Mod and Need Some Help

A couple of weeks ago I stepped up my vape collection big time by purchasing a kayfun Lite Plus and a Vanilla Mod. It is hands down the best set up I have ever tried, granted I've only been vaping for about 9 months, but I have run into just 1 issue. The floating center pin on the mod just barely goes in enough to make contact with the kayfun which can sometimes be an issue. It is also a big issue when I try using my dripper because it simply will not make the connection. Does anyone have experience with an issue like this?

The only solution I can think of at the moment would be to remove the center pin from the mod and file down the insulator on the top cap to hope it goes in a little bit further but I am nervous to try because I have no idea how I would acquire another insulator if I mess this one up.

With Assumption that you know how to strip down the Kayfun and reassemble:

Drain
Remove Tank assembly
Remove inner chimney assembly
Carefully remove Center Pin Rod - to not destroy wick/coil

Add an O-ring to the Center Pin and slide down to base
Reassemble everything and Vape!

I don't know the adjustments on a Vanilla but KFL's have pretty long 510's so I'd check out a review, todd did one, to see if he mentions it or shows some method of adjustment you missed.

alternatively, if nothing else, contact the vendor and see if you can get a replacement pin/cap/whatever before modding it.

O-ring is not a mod. Same as a washer, it allows the pin to stop at a lower point.

Russian91%, Rocket Tank, 2 kayfun clones and Ithaka use an adjustable pin. (threaded flat pin on the base of the main shaft)

Sure but that doesn't solve his dripper not working or really anything he might grab without an adjustable 510. Modding the mod as he mentioned might but it's a good idea to check and see if you can get it fixed first.

Try contacting Smoke-mountain themselves to solve the issues if the KayFun reassembly that crxess mentioned is not doing the job. I've heard they are great with customer service. Best of luck.

I use the MVP, which has a well-known issue with the center contact being a bit too low.

I've found that these let me use all my heads on them with no problem:

Does make it a bit longer, but has always worked for me.

I sucked it up and filed down the insulator on the top cap and it solved the issue perfectly. Even my drippers fit with a little extra to go on the center pin. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Hmmmm. now I wonder if it wasn't pressed in tight.

Had a member with a Nemesis cap that the insulator was not fully in place.

I messed with the insulator and it was screwed in all the way, maybe they just come a little bit too short for what I am trying to use on it but at least it was an easy fix!

Now hopefully setting up the quad coil on my new igo-w3 will be just as easy, not so confident in that one though
