I'm an operating room nurse and have worked in nursing 25 years now. I've discussed vaping with a lot of the doctors and I get one of 2 reactions. 1. They are interested and ask a lot of questions about it. 2. scoff.... look down their nose at me and criticize... some even go so far as to refuse to believe the research results of studies I've shown them.
My first teacher in nursing school said it best. First day first class she asked the class "What is the difference between GOD and a doctor?"
"GOD doesn't think he's a doctor."
On a better note one of them asked if I'd come to her office and show her receptionists my APV since several smoke and have been unable to quit smoking.

My doc is the same exact way except worse. I see him once a week and he gets paid $80 for my 45min visit and since the day I met him and shook his hand, he spends about 10-15 minutes of every visit telling me how the FDA and the association of US doctors or whatever are totally against e-cigs and how he goes to symposiums and e-cigs are discussed and all the doctors agree that e-cigarettes are unsafe and should be banned and how "they came in while bush was in office and if a democrat were in office they'd of never been allowed on the market so now we've got to do a clean up" blah blah blah blah blah. It really pisses me off. He gave me a quit smoking hotline number the 1st time we met as well. lol.

With all that said, I had to tell him that nicotine is non-cancerous. He didn't believe me either, and he challenged me to "bring in ONE document from a reputable source that touts nicotine as a safe drug" which i can't really do without a printer. so, he remains ignorant and annoying. Hes the type of person (old man :p jk) that will forget what you tell him if he doesn't agree with it. So every visit I mention in our little debate that nicotine is noncarcinogenic and its as if hes never heard it before and we get into the same exact debate, sometimes word for word. I hate it.

Which is why I'll probably be switching doctors soon. For the reasons above, and the fact that he wont prescribe me the anxiety medication that I 1st came to him for because I smoked *** when I was in highschool. I'm starting to hate older doctors. I really am.

Ask him for his office email and send him the links before you switch to a new doctor. I hate medicine by nagging!
