Hi all

Just started vaping, gave up smoking 2 days ago

Today is a hard day. Whilst I could not have done it without the vaper, it is driving me crazy right now because it is not working properly.

None of my flavours taste right anymore. I have done the dry burn and it is still the same

Is the Vivi Nova tank rubbish, or am I doing something wrong. I am using a 1.8 ohm thing (dont know what that bits called) and a EGO 1100mah battery.

Is it worth trying a new tank? What are considered the best? I need a solution before the craving for a cigarette becomes too much.

Should I try a new wick?

Thanks all
Andy

Vivi Nova's are hit or miss. My experience with one was lack luster at best. It muted flavor and it couldn't keep up with chain vaping. I would suggest trying out a Kanger T3. The wicks are at the bottom rather than at the top, so you can chain vape and you rarely get a dry hit. Plus they are incredibly easy to fill and no tilting needed to get juice to the wicks!

The major thing with the novas is to make sure that the wicks are completely saturated on the first fill. Make sure you let it sit for a couple of minutes after you fill it up & twirl it around to make sure the wicks are full of liquid. I used to give it like 5-10 minutes. I never had any problems with them after I started doing this...aside from the muted flavor.

What Bergster said .. also, do you have a Vision Vivi Nova or a knock off .. ?? There are a lot of clones out there ..

Thanks for the replies

I bought my tank from here

Buy electronic cigarette and e-cigs | thee-cigshop.co.uk

Does that look legit?

The e-liquid I am using are these and these, are they any good?

I agree with the posts, my flavour is very muted.

Also it is giving me a sore throat, but thats maybe because I have just stopped smoking?

I feel I'm not getting the best out of the vaper

Should I try a new wick?

Yes, your wick is burnt.

Some of the viva wicks don't wick the thick, predominately VG juices, fast enough...leaving a dry wick. Never a problem with thinner juices with a pg/vg mix of 50/50 or greater. When vaping the thicker juices, many do the 'viva tilt' .... tilt and roll the atomizer so juices enter the head.

Bottom feeders like Kanger are better for thick juices, or rebuilding the viva wicks with cotton work better ... and 'unmute' the juice taste.

SO you have a Vision, I have a knock off and it's not what I expected. Being said that you just quit give your taste buds a few days to heal up. If the flavor still isn't coming out like you expected I'm guessing (just an imo) the juice you got may need to steep.

I'm a huge fan of my Vivi Nova. I'm not however a fan of the default atomizers. I make my own now. I use cotton(yarn) wicks and mesh wicks. Much better imho.

I have a fake Vivi as well. I got it after I got my real one. I went into a brick and mortar(B&M) store and saw it there for less than I bought my original. Said Vision and everything. I got it home and noticed that the "stainless steel" on the bottom plate was wearing off to reveal brass where it was screwed into my mod. Then I started to get a lot of dry hits.

So long story short(too late, right?), dont rule out the Vivi Nova just yet. Get a real one and give it another chance. You'll get burned tasting hits with any tank that uses a non metal wick. They all wear out.

One thing you can do is gently grab the wick with tweasers or your fingers(WASH YOUR HANDS AFTERWARD) and twist/pull the wick through the coil until the burnt part has passed the coil. Then you'll basically have a fresh wick.
