Just tested my battery chargers and one of them reads 7.35 volts?

I have two double battery chargers, one is a Trustfire, the other is unknown. Unknown has a switch that you can supposedly change the voltage from 3.6 to 4.2 volts. I noticed that my batteries on the unknown charger would charge very fast recently, changing the light from red to green very quickly. I took my multi-tester and put it on unknown and it reads 7.35 volts. I tested the Trustfire, and it reads 4.34 volts. Is the unknown charger supposed to be that high? I don't want to use it until I hear from you guys if it's safe to use or not. This is measuring without any battery on it.

Sounds like trashcan time, but that's just me.

Do not use the unknown charger any more. Throw it away, it is over charging your batteries!

Even your trustfire is overcharging. 4.2 volts maximum.

Thank you all for your quick replies!! I will toss the unknown charger, but the Trustfire is the only one I've got left. Any recommendations on a new charger?

If your batteries are all 3.6 or 3.7V, I've been happy with the Trustfire TR-001. I've been using one since Feb, consistent results.

Yes, they are all 3.7 14500's and a few 14650 for my e-power.
